This collection contains documentation related to the inauguration of JSU’s 11th President, Dr. William Arthur Meehan (president 1999-2015), which occurred on 7 February 2000. Meehan attended Jacksonville State University as a student, graduating in 1976 with a degree in biology. He began his career in 1977 teaching anatomy and biology at JSU; Meehan later rose through several different positions with the University, including Associate Vice-president for Academic and Student Affairs, before being named president in 1999.

This collection contains documentation related to the inauguration of JSU’s 10th President, Dr. Harold Johnston McGee (1937-2012, president 1986-1999), which occurred on 20 October 1986. McGee was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, received his bachelor degree from Old Dominion University, and master and doctoral degrees in counseling from the University of Virginia. Prior to assuming the presidency at JSU, he held various positions, including Vice-president for Administrative Affairs at James Madison University.

Mary Caffrey Low (later Carver), born on March 22, 1850, in Waterville, Maine, was the first woman to graduate from Colby College. In 1871, she enrolled as the college's first female student, to graduate four years later in 1875. She was one of the first women in New England to receive a regular A.B. degree. Low was the only female student at Colby until the fall of 1873, when she was joined by four other women, among them Louise Helen Coburn. In 1874, Low co-founded the Sigma Kappa Sorority. The Lesley College Schools for Children collection contains catalogs produced annually and other records from the schools (the Carroll-Hall School, the Lesley-Dearborn School, and the Lesley-Ellis School) that the former Lesley College acquired. Each catalog contains a history of the school, information about faculty, admission, buildings, course descriptions, academic calendars, school policy, and tuition and expenses. The collection also contains a book of published poems from students in Lesley-Ellis Schools' creative writing class from 1958 - 1964.

The Lesley College Current was published by the Lesley College Office of Public Relations and Communications and distributed to alumnae, parents, students, faculty, staff, governing boards, and friends of Lesley.
Its purpose was to represent various aspects of the College - its achievements, aspirations, diversity, and controversies. In September 1970, the Current replaced the Alumnae Review, the Parents Newsletter, and the Community Newsletter.

This collection consists of a variety of materials that are organized into the following categories: artwork, objects, scrapbooks, and textiles. Some highlights include former president of the Lesley College Board of Trustees Livingston Stebbins’ family coat of arms, the trowel that former Lesley College President Trentwell Mason White used during the dedication ceremony of Trentwell Mason White Hall, a gym suit from the 1930s-1940s, and a green Lesley blazer. Also included are several scrapbooks, one of which chronicles the life of a Lesley School student in 1929.

The Lesley Review was a quarterly publication by Lesley College featuring articles on current events, issues, and alumnae news. The Lesley Review collection comprises issues published between 1958 and 1970. The Spring 1958 issue (vol. 1, no. 1) of the "Lesley Alumnae Bulletin" appears to be the predecessor to the "Lesley Review." In Fall 1967, the "Lesley Review" changed its title to the "Lesley Alumnae Review."
