The purpose of this study was to identify morale determinants and then to determine the extent of morale relationships and similarities among various categories of students and between students and faculty members in Southern Baptist institutions of higher education.
The study was conducted with randomly selected students and faculty members from four Southern Baptist institutions of higher education in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Two similar research instruments were used to collect data from 230 of 300 students and from 50 of 60 faculty members.

The purpose of this study was to determine which variables (alumni characteristics) may influence the giving pattern of alumni to their alma mater. With American colleges facing a continuing need for funds, a clear understanding of factors which may influence alumni giving is vital.
A questionnaire was mailed to all of the alumni of Los Angeles Baptist College. After receiving responses from 54% of the alumni contacted, the data were analyzed to determine whether certain alumni characteristics affected whether an alumnus was a donor or nondonor. The purpose of this study was to investigate relationships between alumni donor characteristics and self-esteem and altruism with the assumption that donor self-esteem and altruism are related to alumni giving behavior. Eight donor characteristics perceived to represent a cross-section of donor characteristics having a direct or indirect relationship to either self-esteem, altruism, or both, in regard to philanthropy, were selected for study. Self-esteem and altruism were selected because they are perceived to represent factors that are paramount in motivation for giving.
