Readers’ Workshop Model Impact Urban Primary Students’ Motivation And Reading Progress, Narissa Waller

In order to assess the impact of the Readers' Workshop on academic success and literacy progress of primary students in an urban Midwest primary school, the researcher conducted a study. Through this study, the researcher aimed to determine whether the implementation of the Readers' Workshop positively affected the academic and literacy progress of primary students in an urban setting. Student progress was analyzed by comparing their assessment scores and reading levels in fall 2022 and spring 2023. Training and preparation of school leaders have an impact on the quality of leadership displayed in their readiness for the leadership practice. However, in Mexico the training and preparation processes for school leaders are unclear and lack uniformity. The way of access to headship has promoted that school leaders learn to lead in their role without previous preparation for the position. This paper presents the findings of a study conducted through narratives that analyzed the leadership learning processes of novice and experienced school leaders. Few studies have been conducted to investigate the educational benefits of participation in extracurricular activities during middle school (Hughes et al., 2016; Knifsend & Graham, 2012). This mixed-methods study involved elicitation of athletic directors’ perceptions and analysis of secondary data to determine the impact of interscholastic athletics participation on school connectedness. The following spelling curriculum is a utilitarian approach to a spelling curriculum for the future. With this utilitarian approach, it can be made to enhance other work being performed in the classroom, making all experiences valuable in meaning other than learning a group of predetermined words chosen at random.

Mainstreaming the gifted third- grader in reading should be accomplished through the implementation of a modified curriculum that meets the child's unique educational and specialized needs. This curriculum should be process and product oriented . Process modifications should include the use of higher levels of thinking, inductive reasoning, reasoning strategies, freedom of choice, and open-endedness . It should include appropriate changes of pacing and a variety of teaching models . The curriculum should result in a product that is based on instruction. The establishment of a kindergarten for gifted children on the campus of Lindenwood College, St. Charles, Missouri, created the need for a curriculum designed to meet the special strengths and weaknesses of those who would attend.

While these children often possessed advanced skills in reading and math, they were still five-year-olds with certain emotional, social and physical limitations due to their young age.

The purpose of this study was to present data concerning the relationship between 8 factors and spelling achievement. The 8 factors considered in this study were: visual discrimination, auditory discrimination, knowledge of phonics, reading comprehension, student attitude, sex, socioeconomic status, and handwriting.

There were 20 good spellers and 20 poor spellers chosen from the sixth grade students attending Hardin Middle School, St. Charles, Missouri. The commercial tests and measurements administered were: Spelling Subtest, Stanford Achievement Test; Test of Visual Motor Integration; Test of Auditory Discrimination; Word Attack Subtest, Woodcock Reading Mastery Tests; and Gates-MacGinitie Reading Test.
