But in track and field the athlete's point of view seems to be different from that of a team sport participant. Because of the individuality of his sport, the track man is motivated, primarily, through self-satisfaction - through knowing that he has accomplished something on his own. Track men have little hope for material gain through their sport, yet, paradoxically, they are the most dedicated, self-sacrificing group of athletes in the world.

The Education of the Whole Man is essentially two books in one volume. The first is a general treatise. This book opens with a challenge to Borsodi’s Indian friends. They must choose a national destiny: Gandhi or Western industrialization. The second section addresses the problem of education in 30 chapters. There are many forms of education: Physical education, emotional education, perceptual education, introspection education, axiological education, volitional education, etc. But these are not different things.
