Parental involvement in the education process is known to increase student achievement. Many barriers to parental involvement exist including the self-efficacy of teachers’ working with families. The purpose of this correlational study is to determine if a relationship exists between the self-efficacy of rural middle school math and English teachers working with families and student achievement in their classroom. Working with Families Self-Efficacy Scales (WFSES) will be used to determine the self-efficacy of teachers working with families. The purpose of this applied research study is to determine how to improve test scores on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing for high school students in a school in Hawaii and to formulate a solution to address the problem. The problem is that test scores revealed that only 63% of students were proficient for the 2017-2018 school year. The purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to determine the strength of the relationship between teacher self-efficacy and discipline referrals. Participants completed the Teachers’ Sense of Efficacy Scale, which was used as an operational definition of teacher self-efficacy. A Spearman’s correlation coefficient measured the relationship between the predictor variables: classroom management, student engagement, and instructional strategies, and the criterion variable of discipline referrals. Criterion variable data consisted of collected discipline referral records of participants from the participating school district. The purpose of this study was to analyze teachers’ perceptions of their working conditions and to what extent the perceptions impacted 5th grade students’ achievement in the areas of mathematics and science in North Carolina. The 2014 student achievement data in the areas of 5th grade End-of-Grade (EOG) scores in mathematics and science were obtained from one randomly selected school in each of the 115 school districts in North Carolina. The recent and rapid growth of technology during the last several years has dramatically increased the number of new online degree programs and courses in the United States. As a result, enrollment into these online programs and courses has also increased. The United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) estimated there was a total of 12.2 million enrollments in college-level credit-granting distance education courses in 2006-07. A study by the Department of Education (2011) found that from 2000 to 2008, the percentage of undergraduates enrolled in at least one distance education class expanded from 8% to 20%.
