This involves engaging all staff along all the contact points of a patient’s journey in healthcare. Perhaps, the physicians or care providers are most important link in this chain but also the most challenging to engage in improvement efforts. Most healthcare organizations have some training or workshops to educate providers on communication skills and other tools to enhance patient experience. Hospital systems interested in improving patient experience and physician engagement may look to physician communication skills training (CST) as a means of improving both. This study examines a 7.5-hour, multi-specialty, hospital-wide physician CST workshop in a large academic hospital system and its effects on participants’ self-efficacy, attitudes, and behaviors related to communicating with patients. The webinar addresses benefits for the repository and subject librarians, the value and sustainability of such a program, and how further relationships can be built between departments. During her tenure managing the repository at Utah State University, Heather Leary helped launch over 70 SelectedWorks pages, organized an IR Day …

Across Australia, very few Year 12 subjects focus on Asia, according to this report. Where content on Asia is offered, it often has an Australian or Western focus. The authors found that, in practice, it is schools and teachers who select the material that students will study. What teachers know and teach about will reflect to …
