The Effectiveness Of Student Led Conferencing In An Intermediate Setting, Mindy Fitterer

The studied focused on the communication between parents, teachers and students and the student self-reflection of strengths, weaknesses, and goals during Student Led Conferencing. Twenty-five students in a sixth grade classroom created student led conference portfolios and participated in fall and spring conferences with their teacher and parents. The specific parts of each of the pieces of the portfolio and conferences are examined. The results showed a highly effective rate in the desired areas.

The purpose of this project was to create and implement a curriculum and an informational pamphlet on the prevention of bullying at St. Philomena School. The plan was designed to empower students, parents, staff, and community members by defining bullying to give tips on how to prevent bullying, to provide statistics, and to give more resource support to students and parents as well as teachers. The review of literature and research showed that it was essential for all schools, whether public or private, to have information regarding bullying in place. The purpose of this project was to develop a guide for parents of Eisenhower High School and the various feeder middle schools in the Yakima School District to help the eighth graders transitioning from middle school to high school. The intent of the program was to increase the ninth grade student's academic and social success by having parents involved in the transition along with various transition activities.
