Problem. In 2000, NCATE included dispositions in its professional standards as a requirement for teacher education units seeking (re)accreditation with its organization. The problem of this investigation was to examine how program directors, faculty, and preservice teacher candidates in three selected preservice teacher education programs in Indiana and Michigan were responding to this NCATE mandate.

Purpose. The purpose was to explore the ways in which and to what extent dispositionswere included in the curriculum, taught, and assessed in programs, both religiously affiliated and public.

It was the purpose of this study to survey previous education and experience of industrial arts teachers of the junior and senior high schools in the state of Washington for the 1968-69 school year. This was accomplished utilizing the survey method. This study was undertaken in order to gain knowledge as to the qualifications of present industrial arts teachers. On the basis of results obtained, conclusions were reached which may assist educators in evaluating teacher qualifications as well as their own industrial arts program.

It is the opinion of this writer that a teacher's attitude toward his building principal greatly affects his ability to perform in the classroom. If he is receiving the assistance he deserves and needs, his chances of success and continuance in the teaching field are greatly enhanced. It was concluded in the present study that there were areas of significant difference between the prospective teachers of special education and the prospective teachers of regular education with regard to their needs and values. The two instruments used to obtain this information were the Edwards Personal Preference Schedule and the Allport Vernon Lindzey Study of Values. The tests were administered to both groups of prospective teachers in the initial stage of their preparation for the teaching profession.

It is the purpose of this paper to (1) review the investigations and articles by psychologists and educators respecting evidence and extent of maladjustment in teachers, and the consequent effect of such teacher personalities on children; and, premised on the assumption that many teacher maladjustments with their resultant inadequacies are a consequence of unhappy teaching experiences, (2) to investigate areas for conditioning teacher adjustment, with particular attention to reviewing orientation methods and procedures for new teachers and teachers new to the school system.
