It was the purpose of this study to (1) review the evolution of supervisory attitude toward the observational visit, (2) determine how it may improve instruction, (3) discuss the establishment of rapport between the supervisor and the teacher, (4) present some types of classroom observational visits the principal as a supervisor may use, and (5) present and discuss the value of the post visit conference between teacher and supervisor.
