Successful completion of the Self Study will allow Royal High School to retain its accreditation. Research indicates that school climate is best understood through a combination of variables. The first set of variables includes physical climate, culture and organization, culture, group-relationships and psychological (individual) attitudes. The second set has many subsets of variables that also contribute to the climate of each individual school. These variables are interwoven and overlap to create the climate of a school. The primary purpose of this project was to compile a review of literature on school climate. This project will discuss the impact of school climate on the day-to-day operation of school.

The benefits found from a successful public relations program were consistent levy passage, constructive media relations, positive school environments, and proactive communication. An in-service training manual with effective strategies for managing students' behavior was designed for Primary Schools in Belize. The techniques and materials included are based on a review of relevant literature, best practices and appropriate resources collected from elementary and middle schools in the United States and one primary school in Belize. The manual will provide school principals and teachers with criteria for developing school-wide discipline plans, programs for encouraging and recognizing good behavior, and effective classroom behavior management and intervention strategies.

In the late 1990's the Wenatchee School District realized that the community and staff were dissatisfied with the state of discipline in the district. The schools, as is the case in the community at large, could no longer rely on traditional approaches to dealing with a growing number of incidents of anti-social behavior. The Wenatchee School District in Wenatchee, Washington instituted a new middle school athletic program in response to the construction of a new middle school. The new dynamics in the district provided the opportunity to reassess the goals, objectives, and philosophy of their middle school athletic program. Included in this handbook are sections on selecting the best productions for your actors, strategies for directing the young actor, helpful hints on how to build a successful extra-curricular drama program, and more. This project was based on a review ofliterature (including extant curriculum guides and articles and textbooks on directing and acting) and the author's fifteen years experience as an actor, director, and theatre arts educator.
