Online communities have become a part of everyday life for many people. The members of the communities use them to keep in touch with family and friends, do business, look for jobs, play games, and more, both savory and unsavory. The ease of sharing personal information comes with the subsequent risk of having that information exposed publically or even stolen. The purpose of this study was to explore how much awareness of the risks affects a person’s decision to post personal information to an online community.

The objective of this study was to survey IS curriculum in AACSB-accredited Information Systems programs across the United States, to evaluate current adherence to the IS 2010 Curriculum Guidelines, and to assess the number and type of career track developments initiated as a result of less stringent requirements in the new curriculum guidelines. In addition, an analysis was conducted to see if curriculum in AACSB-accredited Information Systems programs across the United States changed significantly since other similar evaluations reported in 1996, and 2006, and whether it is closer in adherence to the IS 2010 curriculum guidelines.

The purposes of this study were to describe and categorize the types of clients seeking reverse mortgage counseling, and to document the growth in demand for reverse mortgage counseling from one counseling center: The USU Family Life Center - Housing and Financial Counseling Services (FLC HFC). Financial Management Practices And Conflict Management Styles Of Couples In Great Marriages, Amanda Marie Horrocks

This study presents findings on the financial management practices and degrees of conflict of couples in great marriages. Qualitative data from a national sample of couples in great marriages were collected using a 31-page questionnaire. Of the 81 couples who responded, 40 fit the criteria for this study in that they discussed their level of agreement about financial issues in marriage. Their responses were coded to discover which financial topics are pervasive and whether or not couples agreed over these topics. The purpose of this study was to examine the socio-demographic and financial characteristics that were associated with the likelihood of a discharge among Chapter 12 bankruptcy filers in Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. Previous bankruptcy studies conducted in Utah have looked at the same associations in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. This study contains individual filer-level data from 158 Chapter 12 bankruptcy cases filed in Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming between 1997 and 2005. This study was conducted to determine if employers were inclined to discriminate between two-year and four-year educated accountants in making hiring and promotional decisions. In addition, accounting graduates of two-year and four-year institutions were studied to see if there were differences between these two groups in regard to educational programs taken, perceptions of the benefit received from the courses taken, salaries received, and views concerning employer hiring and promotional practices.

This study included three different groups consisting of 39 employers in the private business sector as well as 43 two-year accounting associate degree graduates and 43 bachelor accounting degree graduates. …

A study of shorthand usage as perceived by selected Ogden, Utah business executives was conducted to determine if curriculum changes must be made in Business Education Department programs in order to meet the secretarial training requirements of Ogden, Utah Business. Data were collected by telephone interview from 84 businessmen who employed one or more secretaries. These data were stratified according to type of business and size of business. Secretarial employment was stratified according to shorthand as a job requirement and to shorthand utilization of the job. The 1969 through 1976 graduating classes of the business education program at Utah State University were surveyed in this study. The questionnaire was designed to ascertain the work experience of the graduates, the educational status of the graduates, and the value the graduates place on the courses contained in the business education program according to the occupations of the graduates.

Graduates are employed in a large variety of occupations, and the majority of the graduates hold teaching certificates. The majority of the graduates have not completed advanced degrees, and are undecided as to whether or not they will continue their …

The purpose of this study was to compare the relative effectiveness of teaching intermediate typewriting at Utah State University during the Spring and Fall Quarters, 1971, utilizing a system incorporating prepared video tapes with the conventional teacher presentation method.

There were 60 experimental and 60 control students used in the experiment. Those students in the experimental group received all their instruction via prepared video tapes while the control group received all their instruction in the conventional teacher presentation.

The purpose of the study was to determine the present status and the potential for future organization of business youth organizations in Utah high schools.

Questionnaires were mailed to Utah high school business teachers and to Utah high school principals.

Sixty-six per cent of the responding teachers bad never served as a business youth club sponsor; and 69 per cent of the teachers had never belonged to a business youth organization in high school or in college.

Fifty-one per cent of the teachers expressed an interest in attending a regional meeting to discuss the organization of additional business youth organizations. …
