This is a professional development workshop intended for an elementary staff venue. The purpose is to facilitate teachers in developing culturally responsive classrooms in which Latino students can confidently develop their literacy skills. The workshop will serve to assist participants in identifying what their own cultural beliefs are, developing connections with people of the Latino culture, and exploring avenues to encourage growth and understanding between the two.
