Prior to the development of the Visual Toolkit, a questionnaire was sent to all full and part-time faculty in the Pilon School of Business to gather information about the current use of visual tools among the faculty. The full questionnaire and survey results are included here

Eces’ Perceptions On The Role Of Visual Arts In Pre-K Children’S Learning, Mary Naser

Honours Bachelor of Early Childhood Leadership (HBECL) Capstone Research Posters

Visual arts is one of many arts-related activities in which children participate in the early learning and care environments. Literature finds that early childhood educators who are not familiar with visual arts struggle to provide opportunities for children to engage in a more comprehensive experience.

The purpose of this research is to understand the way educators perceive the role of visual arts in pre-k children’s learning. Through a qualitative method, four early childhood educators share their role in visual arts practice with children and their personal views and experiences relating to the subject in a semi-structured interview. Simultaneous Learning About Research And Filmmaking: Informed Learning And Research Guides, Shelley Woods, Kathleen Cummins

Books & Chapters

Christine Bruce has written extensively about informed learning. Informed learning is “using information, creatively and reflectively, in order to learn” (2008, Preface). Bruce writes about informed learning as it relates to information literacy. Librarians, working collaboratively with professors, often develop research guides to teach information literacy skills, and to organize and present program, course, assignment or topic specific resources. Research is essential to documentary filmmaking. This chapter is a case study that describes how the History of Non-Fiction Film research guide that we created aligns with the three principles and seven faces of informed learning.
