The English classroom has become challenging in this age. Not only are teachers expected to instruct students in the specifics of standard university English concepts and requirements but must also now combat post-truth. It is imperative that students are taught critical thinking to decipher what news is ethical and what is fake, while combatting implicit biases when choosing what to write in essays and projects to produce honest and trustworthy products. During the Spring 2020 semester, students within the applied behavior analysis/special education/interdisciplinary early childhood education program were conducting applied thesis projects within typical contexts as part of their fulfillment of the requirements of a master’s degree program. Due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), public schools and related facilities closed with no plans to reopen within the time frame to allow for graduation for students in the last semester of their graduate program.
