For a second year, the organizer of the Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival (CNSJF) commissioned the Dick Pope Sr. Institute for Tourism Studies (DPITS) to prepare a report on perceptions of attendees of the festival. Additionally, the project investigated the value of the event as well as the economic benefits the event brings to Curacao. A survey instrument was designed and used to assess the perceptions of perceived value of event attendees. The survey was completed during the event which was held September 2-3, 2011. A total of 400 surveys was collected and analyzed by DPITS. The survey revealed that …

As Alderman (2010: 90) has recently written, the potential struggle to determine what conception of the past will prevail constitutes the politics of memory. This paper aims to investigate the politics of memory at play in determining how Dublin’s colonial heritage is constructed and represented to tourists. This study was aimed at investigating the management which was used to do the traditional performing art in Yogyakarta palace as a form of overcoming the cultural tourism crisises. The research used qualitative approach. Participant obser- vations, indepth interviews, documentation study were conducted to collect data. The results show that the management which was used to doing the traditional per- forming arts in Yogyakarta palace used management functions, like performance programe (planning), performance actuating, performance organize (organizing), and performance controll (controlling). The management applications could be used by Yogyakarta palace as a form of overcoming the cultural tourism crisises.
