Tourism for people with disabilities can be difficult, which is why theme parks need to provide the proper accommodations for their guests. A literature review on topics such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), exclusion, and tourism accessibility will be provided. The accessibilities and accommodations available at theme parks in the United States, including Walt Disney World, Disneyland, LEGOLAND Florida Resort, LEGOLAND California Resort, Universal Orlando Resort, and Universal Studios Hollywood, will be discussed. This study examined the management of aquatic venues in a number of areas (facilities, programming, human resource management, marketing, policies) as it pertains to LGBTQ participants and participation. The study utilized in-depth semi-structured interviews with 16 aquatic managers to examine steps that are currently being taken (or lack thereof) when it comes to creating environments that are perceived to be open, or closed, to LGBTQ participants. A grounded theory-based process of data collection and analysis resulted in emergent themes. African American children ages 5 – 19 years drown in swimming pools at rates of 5.5 times higher than those of whites (Gilchrist & Parker, 2014). Literature suggested culture is the culprit for this disparity. A fear of water dates to slavery (Pitts, 2007). After slavery was abolished, the memory of drowning remained part of the African American culture. In the twentieth century, the popularity of swimming grew with the increase in public pools. Roughly seven years before an Olympic Games, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) accepts bids from countries to host an Olympics. Subsequently, the IOC determines and announces to the world who has won (and lost) the right to host. Contrary to prior evidence, we find the announcements do not affect the bidding countries’ stock markets. We complement prior studies by including additional, more recent, years of announcements, by investigating whether there are effects prior to the announcement, and by testing for an effect both parametrically and non-parametrically.

The International Union for the Conservation of Nature defines ecotourism as: Environmentally responsible travel to natural areas, in order to enjoy and appreciate nature (and accompanying cultural features, both past and present) that promote conservation, have a low visitor impact and provide for beneficially active socioeconomic involvement of local peoples.

In 2014 the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published the first edition of the Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC). This document represented the inaugural introduction of a federal policy guideline with a direct focus in the area of aquatic venue operation and maintenance with the sole purpose of improving the nature of public health in the field. currency. For snow lovers and the winter sports industry, predictions of a future with

warmer winters, reduced snowfall, and shorter snow seasons is inspiring them to

innovate, increase their own efforts to address emissions, and speak publicly on the

This report examines the economic contribution of winter snow sports tourism to

With over 52 million visitors annually, the Walt Disney World theme park is one of the busiest places on earth (US City Traveler, 2015). While some of these visitors are regular attendees, most are creating new memories in unfamiliar territory. To assist these novice theme park visitors, a plethora of reference books, blogs, tour guides and other resources exist. These recommend which attractions to visit and their popularity. What these resources do not provide, however, is the optimal order that these attractions should be visited.
