Supply chain costing presents a sophisticated alternative to traditional costing allowing an accurate cost estimation and effective decision making. In exploring different techniques, TDABC was not explored extensively compared to its peers. In addition to the infancy of the technique, there is an on-going debate about the capability of the TDABC specifically in manufacturing context. The present study contributes to the debate by applying TDABC at the logistics function of a manufacturing site and assesses it capability to measure performance in the stated context.

XYZ Company routinely faced penalties imposed by the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for non-compliance in depositing federal withholding taxes related to the managed benefits plans for its clients. Since the rules for depositing the federal taxes were complex and differed between the benefits plans, it was common for XYZ Company to accrue penalties imposed by the IRS. Desiring to eliminate penalties by complying 100% with the IRS guidelines, XYZ Company considered various solutions. Despite the significant benefits offered by the customer relationship management (CRM) strategy together with advanced technology, there is still a high rate of companies who fail to see results promised by CRM in order to achieve a competitive advantage. A review of the empirical literature together with the case study of the CRM implementation within a midsize financial firm will result in deeper understanding of current CRM practices that could contribute to better planning, selection, and implementation of customer relationship management programs.
