JOHNSON CITY (Jan. 13, 2022) – East Tennessee State University and Ballad Health announced that Dr. Kathryn Wilhoit has been named the inaugural director of the Appalachian Highlands Center for Nursing Advancement. She began her new role on Jan. 1, 2022.

Wilhoit brings more than 40 years of experience in clinical and research-based nursing, administration and leadership experience to this role. Most recently, she served as interim dean of the ETSU College of Nursing from January through August 2021, and then as special assistant to the dean of Nursing from August  through December 2021.

Winter Innovations developed an industry-first surgical suture with a specialized patent-protected needle design that dramatically simplifies and standardizes suturing and enables techniques not possible with conventional surgical needles. JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – ETSU Health has extended service hours at its COVID-19 testing site in response to limited at-home test supply availability and the anticipated rise in cases due to the Omicron variant.

Hours of operation will now extend from 8:15 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8:15 a.m.-noon, Friday. Preregistration is required. Schedule an appointment online at ETSUHealth.org.
