Previous studies have been neglected the behavior of the owners who are non-members when discussing brand community (BC), even though they are substantially larger. This study purposely discuss what are the differences between the two by using model of goal directed behavior (MGB) and uses the findings as a way to recruit non-members in BC activities. This study also proposes some refinements to the original concept of MGB. This survey-based study, conducted with 201 active members and 226 non-members of a motor club in Indonesia, employs structural equation modeling methodology which supports the proposed model. This study looks at the differences and the relationships between organizational characteristics and employee overall satisfaction between the State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and the Non-State-Owned Enterprises (Non-SOEs) in Vietnam. Perception Of Export Barriers In A High-Tech Sector In A Less Developed Country: The Case Of Ict Smes In Malaysia, Christopher J. R. Richardson

This paper investigates which export barriers are most pressing to small and medium sized enterprises (SME) in a high-tech sector in a developing-country. It also examines whether exporters and non-exporters perceive different export barriers as being more pressing to their export development/initiation. The unit of analysis is SMEs in Malaysia’s information and communications technology (ICT) sector. The findings suggest that the high cost of exporting is the most severe problem facing firms in the sample, with cultural differences posing the least important obstacle. The present study was designed to examine the relationship between human resource management practices and turnover intention among the faculty members of private universities in Bangladesh. The prime objective of this study was to understand whether the institution’s HRM practices can influence faculty turnover decision. A total of 317 faculty members of different private universities located in Dhaka Metropolitan Area(DMA) participated in the survey and returned the questionnaire to the researchers which represented 57% response rate of the study. This paper aims to examine the extent of human capital (HC) reporting among top Malaysian companies and introduce an HC reporting guideline that can be used by Malaysian companies and regulator. It begins by developing the HC framework based on previous intellectual capital (IC) frameworks. This framework is then used to examine each of the top 100 Malaysian companies listed on the Bursa Malaysia in year 2008. While the positive productivity spillover from Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to domestic owned firms in host countries is unequivocally emphasized in theory, the empirical evidence is contradictory. This paper, based on firm level data in Vietnam (enterprise census, 2000-2005), provides more inside on that. Using time-varying stochastic frontier approach, the study decomposed the change of productivity into technical change, technical efficiency change and scale efficiency change. The evidence from estimating the spillovers in each corresponding components suggest that horizontal FDI bring negative spillovers, mainly to technical change but positive spillovers to technical efficiency. This paper aims to investigate if the Chinese economic ties with Sub Saharan Africa serve as a substitute for this existing European-African relationship. Three types of economic activities are studied to determine a possible substitution effect: 1) trade (imports and exports) 2) foreign direct investment (FDI) flows; and 3) development aid from China and the European Union towards six African countries. A survey among 650 undergraduate students in Asian countries, including Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand, showed that student's entrepreneurial intentions and the determining factors varied from country to country. Generally, self-efficacy, environmental factors, age, and gender were found to have significant impact on entrepreneurial intentions among Asian students. However, the model could only explain 25.5% total variance of entrepreneurial intentions. it is expected that results of this research can give insights for government and universities to formulate policies and programs to cultivate entrepreneurial spirit among students.

This study was conducted to measure the mediating effect of distributive justice on the relationship between pay level, pay structure, and job commitment. A survey research method was used to gather 194 usable questionnaires from academic staff of 15 Malaysian public community colleges (MPCC). Outcomes of testing mediating model using a stepwise regression analysis showed that distributive justice has increased the effect of pay design features (i.e., pay level and pay structure) on job commitment. This paper proposes a triple model of typology of conflict management style, which incorporates three factors: (1) interaction concerns (cooperation versus competitiveness), (2) individualistic versus collectivistic cultures, and (3) environmental uncertainty (stable versus dynamic). The objectives are achieved by reviewing literature on the typology of conflict management style from the working of Blake and Mouton's (1964) model to Freeman and Browne's (2004) model. The fast growing economy and institutional and economic reforms made the Chinese equity markets the third largest in Asia. This leads to strategies of industrial diversification within Chinese firms. Financial theory suggests that industrial diversification may have advantages in emerging markets, because conglomerates are better able to cope with market imperfections than focused firms. Moreover, diversification through investing in many shares may be costly in imperfect markets. Negative effects of diversification can be found if hubris generates too large take-over premiums or if managers consume perks related to company size. The factor, such as, price, product quality, product risk, familiarity, involvement, intrinsic and extrinsic cues, and familiarity are used to gauge the purchase preferences. The study is carried out in Klang Valley involving two most popular hypermarkets in Malaysia that are Tesco and Giant.
