Firm’s strategic orientation involves synchronizing environmental dynamics, corporate strategy and capital structure in order to achieve firm performance targets. The co-alignment model used successfully in the hospitality industry might be used in a wider context as a framework in explaining these relationships simultaneously. Using the data of public firms in Indonesia during the period of 1996-2010, we found that co-alignment model can be implemented in property and real estate industry as well as in hospitality industry.

Entrepreneurship has been the fundamental topics of discussion among the politicians, economists, and academics. Business creation is especially critical in developing countries to stimulate economic growth. The present study attempts to examine entrepreneurial inclination among students who are a potential source of entrepreneurs. The findings of the present research study indicate that majority of our business students are not entrepreneurial-inclined. They do not seem to possess strong entrepreneurial characteristics and entrepreneurial skills, and they are not keen in starting a new business. The roles of higher institutes of education and the government in promoting entrepreneurship are discussed.

Conflict can be functional or dysfunctional to the organization’s performance. This study focused on the relationship between conflict approaches implemented by the project manager based on project team member’s perception on the effectiveness of the project manager in managing project’s conflict. Questionnaires were modified from Barker et al. (1988) to measure conflict management approaches and outcomes of managing project conflict. The purpose of this paper is to examine the strategic orientation in terms of Miles and Snow typologies of the firms in emerging country and investigate their implications on performance. Unlike previous research, this paper focuses the importance of strategy implementation to the performance implications of Miles and Snow typology. Data was collected from 111 key informants from firms in Thailand’s chemical industry using probability sampling. The one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) results showed that prospectors performed better than the other three strategic types, whereas reactors exhibited the lowest performance scores. They have inadequate capital to support businesses run by cooperatives and the government provides insufficient support for the worker cooperatives. The problem under study is how human resources management affected the capital of worker cooperatives. Previous studies have been neglected the behavior of the owners who are non-members when discussing brand community (BC), even though they are substantially larger. This study purposely discuss what are the differences between the two by using model of goal directed behavior (MGB) and uses the findings as a way to recruit non-members in BC activities. This study also proposes some refinements to the original concept of MGB. This paper investigates which export barriers are most pressing to small and medium sized enterprises (SME) in a high-tech sector in a developing-country. It also examines whether exporters and non-exporters perceive different export barriers as being more pressing to their export development/initiation. The unit of analysis is SMEs in Malaysia’s information and communications technology (ICT) sector. The findings suggest that the high cost of exporting is the most severe problem facing firms in the sample, with cultural differences posing the least important obstacle. The present study was designed to examine the relationship between human resource management practices and turnover intention among the faculty members of private universities in Bangladesh. The prime objective of this study was to understand whether the institution’s HRM practices can influence faculty turnover decision. This paper aims to examine the extent of human capital (HC) reporting among top Malaysian companies and introduce an HC reporting guideline that can be used by Malaysian companies and regulator. It begins by developing the HC framework based on previous intellectual capital (IC) frameworks. This framework is then used to examine each of the top 100 Malaysian companies listed on the Bursa Malaysia in year 2008. While the positive productivity spillover from Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to domestic owned firms in host countries is unequivocally emphasized in theory, the empirical evidence is contradictory. This paper, based on firm level data in Vietnam (enterprise census, 2000-2005), provides more inside on that. Using time-varying stochastic frontier approach, the study decomposed the change of productivity into technical change, technical efficiency change and scale efficiency change. The evidence from estimating the spillovers in each corresponding components suggest that horizontal FDI bring negative spillovers, mainly to technical change but positive spillovers to technical efficiency. This paper aims to investigate if the Chinese economic ties with Sub Saharan Africa serve as a substitute for this existing European-African relationship. Three types of economic activities are studied to determine a possible substitution effect: 1) trade (imports and exports) 2) foreign direct investment (FDI) flows; and 3) development aid from China and the European Union towards six African countries. A survey among 650 undergraduate students in Asian countries, including Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand, showed that student's entrepreneurial intentions and the determining factors varied from country to country. Generally, self-efficacy, environmental factors, age, and gender were found to have significant impact on entrepreneurial intentions among Asian students. However, the model could only explain 25.5% total variance of entrepreneurial intentions. it is expected that results of this research can give insights for government and universities to formulate policies and programs to cultivate entrepreneurial spirit among students.
