Stories assist in transmitting cultural wisdom, including wisdom about the business community. The role of stories in various contexts such as education (including international management), management, and marketing, as well as the job search is explained. The article concludes by presenting instructional activities for business education that develop cultural competence through stories.

The authors conducted a study of MIS textbooks as a follow-up to a study completed in 2005 and found, as in the earlier study, that computer security receives limited depth of coverage in the textbooks. Textbooks continue to publish a variety of topics and issues relating to technology security. A comparison of the results of the previous and current research studies clearly indicate there is additional coverage. This increase illustrates the importance of security topics and issues for students completing an introductory information systems course. An Integrated Vendor-Buyer Cooperative Inventory Model For Items With Imperfect Quality And Shortage Backordering, Jia-Tzer Hsu, Lie-Fern Hsu

We develop a model to determine an integrated vendor-buyer inventory policy for items with imperfect quality and planned back orders. The production process is imperfect and produces a certain number of defective items with a known probability density function. The vendor delivers the items to the buyer in small lots of equally sized shipments. Upon receipt of the items, the buyer will conduct a 100% inspection. Since each lot contains a variable number of defective items, shortages may occur at the buyer. We assume that shortages are permitted and are completely back ordered. As state budgets have come under increasing pressure, many states have enacted so called "Amazon taxes" that seek to have large online retailers collect state sales tax. States are attempting to expand the concept of nexus to include marketing affiliates and corporate subsidiaries. Amazon and other large retailers have reacted in different ways depending on the state and the specific legislation. This paper discusses the potential impact of these new laws and how both states and online retailers have dealt with the issues involved.

This research is conducted to explore the determinants of accuracy in decision making and usage of Decision Making Tools (DMT) among managers in Malaysia. Based on the literature review, DMT have been effectively used in forecasting, analysing and evaluating business risks. 193 sets of questionnaire were distributed to prove the objectives and the hypotheses of this study. Results revealed that information accessibility influences accuracy in decision making. While, time pressure, behaviour of decision makers and DMT have weak relationship in influencing the accuracy in decision making. Lastly, recommendations on the usage of DMT have also been discussed in this research.

Organizational factors have been linked to successful corporate entrepreneurship. The Corporate Entrepreneurship Assessment Instrument (CEAI) is an instrument that attempts to measure the effectiveness of the key internal organizational factors, or climate, that influence innovative activities and behaviors. The composite CSFs are tested for their relationships to IS success and one another in order to evaluate which factors have a direct/indirect impact on IS success.
