Redefining Female Leadership In The Fashion And Apparel Industry: Equity And Equality, Elaine Grullón
JWU Dissertations & Theses
Female leadership in the fashion and apparel industry has increased recently; however, females remain underrepresented in C-suite and executive positions (Cassell et al., 2022; Field et al., 2023; Lindahl, 2024). Nonetheless, this significant industry employs numerous female workers within the different organizational structures in the United States (U.S.) (Kumar et al., 2019; Tagra, 2021; U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2024). Online qualitative surveys and interviews were conducted to develop an understanding of the perceptions on this topic held by both online resellers and …

Honors Theses - Providence Campus
Plastic is all around us in modern America and in the world. Plastic is found in our vehicles, clothing, houses—it’s even made its way into our food, our septic systems, our oceans, and even our rain (Seferian). Plastic waste is a very pressing issue that brings up many environmental challenges: microplastics, landfill buildup, air pollution, soil contamination, water contamination etc. The textile industry is a major contributor to plastic pollution with the rise of fast fashion (Bandera). To combat this, textile and environmental scientists are exploring ways to transform plastic waste into usable textile materials through upcycling, “transforming mixed plastic …

In today’s corporate climate, a company’s ethical and social responsible (ESR) involvement raises concern amongst consumers. Companies seek methods to demonstrate their high level of ESR in order to win customers’ loyalty. Prior research has been performed examining different variables with regards to the purchase of ESR products. This study utilizes empirical evidence from a private university in Rhode Island, Johnson & Wales University to investigate the significance of demographic variables such as nationality, gender and educational level with regards to students' ESR buying attitude. Additionally considered and analyzed external factors are product price, advertisement and industry concern. Results indicate …
