The purpose of this paper is to investigate the potential legislative changes brought about by Robert F Kennedy Jr. and the “Make America Healthy Again” campaign to uncover possible financial effects to Conagra Brands’ next fiscal year. This was achieved through research on RFK’s opinions on American food culture from sources such as interviews and Senate confirmation hearings. Findings included disapproval of seed oils and artificial food dyes that could affect Conagra Brands’ subsidiaries. The purpose of this thesis is to address the financial, strategic, and external effects caused by tariffs within the automotive industry, with a specific focus on the effects caused by the Section 232 tariffs imposed on aluminum and steel. More Specifically this thesis will examine a comparative analysis of General Motors between 2017 and 2018 during the Section 232 enactment. With the guidance of Dr. Victoria Dickinson, professor at the University of Mississippi, these case studies were completed throughout the Accountancy 420 class to fulfill the research requirements of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College and the Patterson School of Accountancy. Correlation Between Interest Rates And Bank Mergers, Maren Egging

This paper examines the relation between macroeconomic factors and bank mergers and acquisitions from 1995 to 2022. I build upon the work of Etsy et al. (1994) to determine an updated analysis of how interest rates and stock market returns may influence merger activity in the banking segment. Using a dataset of 1,153 large bank mergers, I perform correlation analyses to draw three main conclusions. Firstly, bank mergers demonstrate weaker correlations with key macroeconomic variables than industrial mergers. Secondly, I observe material differences from the work of Etsy et al. with what appears to be significant changes in underlying relations. …
