To counter tax avoidance using transfer mispricing practices, Indonesia introduced a transfer pricing documentation policy. This policy requires taxpayers to be transparent with their transfer pricing decisions. Treating the implementation of this policy as a shock to the taxpayers, this paper examines how the transfer pricing documentation policy affects a firm's tax avoidance behaviour by employing regression discontinuity design and difference-in-difference. Immediately after introducing the policy, a regression discontinuity analysis results indicate a 0.9 percentage point increase in tax/sales among taxpayers obligated to prepare transfer pricing documentation. Bureaucracy has co-existed with forms of management accounting [MA] from the time of ancient civilizations. In this paper, we review literature in a wide variety of scholarly journals and books to provide an overview of this co-existence. We trace the historical evolution of MA and how it was influenced by bureaucracy from 1700 to the present. We do so through four time periods, designated classical, modern, post-modern and contemporary. For each of these periods, evolving understandings of bureaucracy were linked to changes in the practice and conceptualization of MA. This paper examines whether and how firms' engagement in related-party transactions (RPTs) is shaped by public communication of audit risks as required by the expanded audit report. Using the phased regulatory changes in China and a difference-in-differences design with firm fixed effects and matching, we find that firms significantly reduce their RPTs after the adoption of expanded audit reports (EARs). To investigate potential mechanisms, we find that (1) investor scrutiny increases after the adoption of EARs, (2) the reduction of RPTs is more pronounced when EARs are more likely to attract investor attention, and (3) the reduction of RPTs is …

The majority of companies surveyed (70%) have started their sustainability transformation in one form or another, and many have initiated discussions. However, on the whole, only 37% of companies have implemented sustainability initiatives, and 21% have reported on sustainability. On the bright side, these percentages are slated to double within 1-3 years. We examine the effects of local newspapers on firms’ information environments. With newspaper employment dropping precipitously in the last few decades, we posit that these changes will harm local firms’ information environments. Consistent with local news improving information environments, we find that volatility, spreads, and illiquidity increase as local newspaper intensity declines and that this is associated with firms’ importance in their local economy. We further find that for firms that are more important in their community, or have busy analysts, less local newspaper intensity is associated with significantly lower analyst accuracy and higher forecast dispersion. يهدف هذا البحث الى تطبيق انموذج برنامج تدقيق مقترح لتفعيل اجراءات التدقيق وفق المعايير الدولية لتحسين استمرارية النشاط المصرفي، ودوره الفاعل في تقييم المخاطر المصرفية والتنبؤ بنتيجة النشاط المصرفي،وفق ما يتناسب مع بيئة العمل المحلية، ومتطلبات جهات الرقابة المصرفية الدولية، نظرا لاهتمام العديد من الأطراف وارتباط مصالحهم مع المصارف محل الفحص والتدقيق، بالإضافة الى التوجه الدولي والمحلي نحو الاهتمام المتزايد باستمرارية العمل المصرفي، وبما يتماشى مع المعايير الدولية، وقد طبق هذا البحث على عينة مكونة من مصرفين من المصارف التجارية الخاصة المدرجة في سوق العراق للأوراق المالية للمدة ( 2018-2021)، وقد استخدم المنهج الوصفي التحليلي في وصف وتحليل وقياس جميع …

اثر القيادة الابوية في الحد من الانسحاب الوظيفي: دراسة استطلاعية في شركة زين العراق, علي ذنون يونس الجادر, صفاء ادريس عبودي

تهدف الدراسة إلى تحديد اثر القيادة الأبوية المتمثلة في (القيادة الخيرية، والقيادة الأخلاقية، والقيادة السلطوية). في الحد من الانسحاب الوظيفي (الانسحاب الجسدي، والانسحاب النفسي) في شركة زين العراق للاتصالات، واعتمدت الدراسة في عملية جمع البيانات على الاستبانة بوصفة أداة رئيسية لتحقيق هدفها. اذ تم توزيع (258) استمارة لتحديد مدى توافر ابعاد القيادة الأبوية والانسحاب الوظيفي، وتم استرجاع (211) استمارة صالحة للتحليل الاحصائي. وعن طريق استعمال مجموعة من الأساليب الإحصائية تتمثل في التوزيع الطبيعي، عامل الثبات (ألفا كرو نباخ). الموثوقية، المتوسط الحسابي، الانحراف المعياري، معامل الانحدار المتعدد، فيما بينت نتائج الدراسة وجود علاقة تأثير ايجابية ذات دلالة إحصائية بين القيادة الأبوية …
