This study examines methodological developments in modeling financial market volatility, with a particular focus on Bayesian nonparametric approaches as flexible alternatives to traditional parametric models such as GARCH and stochastic volatility frameworks. While characteristics of financial time series—including fat tails, volatility clustering, asymmetry, and structural breaks—limit the effectiveness of rigid parametric specifications, nonparametric Bayesian tools such as Dirichlet Process Mixtures offer adaptive probabilistic structures that better capture the true behavior of returns.

More than 90% of Iraq’s government revenue comes from oil, which leaves the general budget structurally exposed to whatever happens outside its borders. This study asks how three types of external pressure — oil price volatility, disruptions in international financial transfers, and geopolitical uncertainty — actually reach the Iraqi budget, and over 2004Q1–2025Q3, a span covering three full cycles of external stress. International Journal for Business Education

Purpose: This study examines how undergraduate business student grades changed before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic using a large institutional dataset from a business college in a US university between 2015 and 2024.

Method: The analysis includes over 390,000 student-course observations and incorporates instructional modality, student demographics, course characteristics, and prior academic performance.

Results: Results show a substantial increase in mean course grades during the COVID-19 period, followed by a partial reversion post-pandemic to levels that remain above pre-pandemic trends. These patterns are consistent across modalities, demographics, and departments.

This study examines how audit billing arrangements (ABAs) influence managers’ willingness to share private information with auditors, a key determinant of audit quality. Drawing on prospect theory, I predict that framing the ABA as either a fixed-fee or a reserve affects managers’ information disclosure decisions, particularly for scope- increasing information. In a 2 x 2 between-subjects experiment, I find an interaction of ABA type and information type. Managers are more willing to disclose scope-increasing information with a fixed-fee ABA than with a reserve ABA, but less willing to disclose scope-consistent information with a fixed-fee ABA than with a reserve ABA. …

This study aims to analyze the impact of earnings volatility on the debt financing structure of Iraqi banks, using an analytical descriptive approach and financial data from a sample of private Iraqi banks listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange for the period (2017-2024). A multiple linear regression model was applied to examine the relationship, while controlling key variables (liquidity ratio and bank size). This study aims to Analysis of the Economic Impacts of Climate Change and External Shocks on Tourism Demand in the Kurdistan Region for the Period (2007-2023), utilizing a rigorous econometric methodology that includes unit root tests, Granger causality, and the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model to verify long-term equilibrium relationships through the Bounds Test.
