Revisit Hospitality And Tourism Research Rankings In Six Journals: Second Decade Of The New Millennium, Yuehan Cao, Jiyeon Jeon, Liang R. Tang, Xi Wang
Journal of Global Hospitality and Tourism
The purpose of this research was to replicate an earlier study that analyzed hospitality and tourism research contributions in the first decade of the new millennium (Park et al., 2011) using a time frame of 2010-2019. The present study reviewed six top-tier hospitality and tourism journals, including the International Journal of Hospitality Management, Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research, Cornell Hospitality Quarterly, Tourism Management, Journal of Travel Research, and Annals of Tourism Research. The Camino de Santiago as a tourist and cultural phenomenon has grown exponentially in recent decades. This route, of medieval origin, began to receive general attention in the second half of the 20th century. This interest manifested itself almost in parallel in two interconnected areas. On the one hand, there is the revival of traditional pilgrimages, i.e. on foot or by non-mechanised means of transport. Preparing for fire-related emergencies and consequence management is considered to be dynamic and challenging in managing crises, preventing losses, and in the allocation of resources. In this study, we argue that improving plans and operations of personnel involved in managing fire-related emergencies is an important area of investigation. Here, we investigate the effects of social connectedness among different team members to manage bushfires. We further analyze response coordination by exploring variables such as participants’ preparedness quality, quality of incident action planning, and quality of accessibility of resources. Sport management as a scholarly discipline is relatively new, and very few students who earn doctorates in this field go into academia, instead choosing to go into practice where salaries are much higher. Due to these circumstances, literature research in sport management is difficult for students as well as librarians, as very little primary research exists in published journals and books. This poster reviews challenges for librarians, the best information resources to support academic sport management programs, common student questions, and tangential research areas that support research in this discipline.
