With the increasing prevalence of UN SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) and ESG movement, more and more companies have started to include environmental performance as part of their strategic goals. From both risk management and value creation perspectives, not only is the positive environmental performance socially desirable, but it also can affect the economic performance. Companies strive to achieve superior environmental and economic performance (i.e.E2 performance), but few have succeeded.

During the past fifty years, organizational scholarship on leadership has shifted from a focus on the significance of leadership for meaning-making to the significance of leadership for economic performance. This shift has been problematic for two reasons. First, it has given rise to numerous conceptual difficulties that now plague the study of leadership. Second, there is now comparatively little attention to the question of how individuals find meaning in the economic sphere even though this question should arguably be one of the most important questions for organizational scholarship. The Impact Of Clean Energy On Economic Growth: An Econometrics Approach, Cheng Zhang

Pepperdine Policy Review

This paper reviews the relationship between economic performance and clean energy using country level data. A combined instrumental variable and fixed-effect regression model is adopted to determine the relationship. By examining data in the past 50 years, we conclude that developing alternative energy will harm GDP growth, but to a relatively small degree. Thus, policymakers can take advantage of alternative energy research and development as a long-term investment that will reduce reliance on traditional energy sources.
