This study employs meta-analysis, rich pictures, timeline analysis, and causal loop diagram to explore the sustainability impacts of the SARSA-FIS hybrid method in forex trading robots. It reviews 56 references (2018-2023), using rich pictures to map AI-driven interactions. Timeline analysis traces AI’s evolution in forex, while causal loop diagram clarifies its role in market dynamics. Responsible algorithms and SRI principles mitigate risks, promoting ethical trading. Employing a firm-level panel dataset from Statistik Industri for 2008-2015, this study investigates the effect of incoming Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on inefficiency traps in Indonesia. Firms often face transient and persistent inefficiencies in production and resource utilization, impeding optimal efficiency and productivity. Stochastic Frontier Analysis and Tobit estimates quantify the positive impact of FDI spillovers on inefficiency traps, with FDI spillovers reducing both inefficiencies, particularly transient inefficiencies. Foreign investment externalities diminish inefficiencies through spatial and sectoral spillovers, with spatial spillovers exerting a larger influence. Improved human capital and increased access to foreign inputs also contribute to the mitigation of …

Post-surgical spinal infection occurs in up to 20 % of patients, despite aggressive peri-operative antibiotic treatments. To improve prophylaxis, we have designed and evaluated an ultrasound-activated prophylactic antibiotic release system to combat post-surgical bacterial survival. Polylactic acid (PLA) clips (1 cm³) were 3D-printed with an interior reservoir (0.8 cm³) for carrying drug payload, specifically vancomycin (VAN). Under IACUC approval, clips were surgically implanted into the spines of sheep (n = 9) and swine (n = 2) by removing the spinous process at several levels of the lumbar spine. We replicate and extend Flammer’s (2013) event study of investor reaction to environmental corporate social responsibility (CSR). Flammer found that investors reacted positively to eco-friendly events and negatively to eco-harmful events from 1980-2009 and that reaction to positive events decreased while reaction to negative events increased over time. We find similar results for Flamer’s original sample and an expanded sample including the same type of firms (U.S.-listed public firms) from 1980-2019. We then extend Flammer’s results by examining how materiality affects investor reaction over time. We find that investors only react to material events and that positive reaction to material …

The online dating industry generated 2.98 billion USD in 2023 and is estimated to reach 3.6 billion USD by 2025. Not surprisingly, online dating platforms are rife with romance scams that cause financial damages, with estimated losses of 1.3 billion USD in 2022 alone. Additionally, victims suffer emotional and psychological harms. Change is an inevitable and defining force in organizations. While structured change management frameworks provide critical guidance, they often overlook the human dimensions of change. Knowledge loss is a common challenge within IHEs—highly educated and skilled individuals leave—often taking the knowledge to do their job well with them. Turnover in IHEs is currently at an all-time high. There is a strong correlation between knowledge management practices and organizational performance. This research examines stakeholder engagement strategies among Indonesian restaurant owners in the United States, focusing on their operational success and business sustainability. Using a qualitative methodology, the study conducted semi-structured interviews with five purposively selected restaurant owners to investigate how they integrate stakeholder interests into business strategies, leverage government support, and adapt engagement practices across different sectors. The findings reveal three key challenges: insufficient frameworks for integrating stakeholder interests with business strategies, inadequate government support mechanisms, and inconsistent stakeholder engagement practices. This paper studies the effect of financial inclusion on inflation in high and low financially developed countries. The author utilizes country-level annual data of 83 world economies covering the period from 2004 to 2022. The Generalized Method of Moments is utilized to estimate the relationship between six financial inclusion indicators and inflation while combating the endogeneity and heteroskedasticity present in the data. Other macroeconomic variables are added to the model to limit the omitted variables bias. At a second stage, the same relationship is tested using a self-constructed financial inclusion index. During the fall of 2023, Utah Women & Leadership Project (UWLP) researchers conducted a statewide study to establish a baseline for public perceptions related to the awareness, understanding, and attitudes about challenges that Utah women and girls face. In early 2024, we published 20 short research summaries that shared the results of this comprehensive study. Then, in the fall of 2024, we administered the survey, with slight refinements, around the state of Utah. We now share the results of the 2024 data by releasing six white papers; this is the third in the series.
