Import substitution industrialization (ISI) is such a template that many countries lagging behind in terms of development considered as an essential phase. The process of adopting ISI by these countries, however, displays contrasts in many aspects. The more apparent cases of differences in ISI adoption emanate from the East-Asian and Sub-Saharan African (SSA) models. These two regions are both latecomers in that industrial revolution, compared to Latin American countries being pioneers, was a chronologically later undertaking. Despite constraining factors, the East-Asian model thrives to become a successful experience. Meanwhile, SSA and Latin American countries still strive to achieve this ambition. …

The Impact Of Increasing News Intensity And Number Of Investors On The Relationship Between News Sentiment And Price Movement In The Developing Country: Indonesian Evidence, Zaäfri Ananto Husodo, Muhamad Nagib Alatas

Bulletin of Monetary Economics and Banking

This study examines how news intensity and investor numbers affect the link between news sentiment and equity price movements in Indonesia, using the LQ45 Index. Applying methods such as correlation analysis, CAPM, VAR, Granger causality tests, and rolling correlations, we find that higher news intensity and investor participation strengthen the connection between news sentiment and stock returns while also increasing volatility. The findings suggest that incorporating news sentiment analysis can improve market stability and investment decisions in developing economies.

The shift towards sustainable food production is essential to address the urgent dual challenges of climate change and population growth, with agricultural cooperatives playing a vital role in this transformation. However, many cooperatives struggle to deliver the expected value to their members. By considering cooperatives as member-centred production systems, this research investigates relational capital's role in determining cooperative success. This study uses a sequential mixed-methods research approach. First, we use empirical survey data from 320 farmers to test a moderated mediation model that links relational capital to collaboration activities and outcomes. Resistance to organizational change is a significant obstacle to achieving the advantages of transformation, especially in today’s volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous business environment (VUCA). While paternalistic leadership is relevant in cultures like Turkey, there is still limited research on how it affects resistance to change. This study examines whether paternalistic leadership, characterized by authority, benevolence, and moral integrity, reduces employee resistance to change, and how organization-based self-esteem (OBSE), workplace spirituality (WS), and leaders’ psychological capital (PSYCAP) moderate this relationship. This project examines the 2025 Pakistan floods as a multidimensional climate disaster that triggered severe human, agricultural, and economic consequences. Moving beyond event-based reporting, the study examines how climate change, weak governance, poor infrastructure planning, and delayed institutional responses intensified the scale of destruction. Using investigative journalism methods, the project combines field reporting from flood-affected areas, in-depth interviews with displaced communities, local activists, and experts, and analysis of official data and policy documents. The findings reveal widespread displacement, loss of livelihoods, food insecurity, and long-term social vulnerability, particularly among marginalized rural populations. Retailers are increasingly using augmented reality (AR) to enhance the customer experience. This research investigates how AR service experiences contribute to customer co-creation. Two experimental studies using real AR applications and PLS-SEM provide evidence. Study 1, utilizing IKEA Place and WannaKicks, examines whether network externality enhances experience quality and whether customer autonomy influences this effect. Results show that network externality enhances experience quality, but the effect weakens at higher levels of autonomy, indicating that autonomous customers rely less on network cues. In DS 774/874, AI and Emerging Technologies in Business (formerly E-Business) at the University of New Hampshire, auto-graded assignments and presentation-based deliverables no longer reliably indicate student understanding, as AI can generate correct or polished outputs with minimal engagement. The paper presents a mathematical framework for converting nonlinear dynamical systems into parallel forms. This framework replaces the exact system motion equations with interval equations, enabling the representation of nonlinear functions over piecewise linear domains. Such representation enables the description of system motions using linear-like differential equations, which can be analyzed and manipulated using well-known control methods. One such method is eigenvalue analysis, a powerful tool in classical control theory since many techniques rely on the system’s characteristic polynomial and its eigenvalues. This thesis examines how universities across the major geographical regions in the United States communicate their employer brand through the Careers section on their websites and digital recruitment materials. Using a multiple-case qualitative content analysis, the study applies the four-dimensional brand SMRT storytelling framework of story, meaning, ritual, and transmedia to evaluate how institutions signal aspects of their employer value proposition across various content formats. Findings show that meaning and ritual were consistently applied through content formats via mission statements, departmental narratives, and employee photography. This thesis examines how K-pop artists use Instagram and Weverse to communicate with fans, and how platform-specific affordances shape the relational dynamics of contemporary fandom. Using a mixed-method content analysis of four artists—Seventeen, Babymonster, Lee Sung-Kyoung, and Kim Myungsoo (L)—this study compares 2022–2024 posting patterns across both platforms. Quantitative findings show that highly curated promotional photos and videos dominate Instagram, whereas Weverse contains far more text-based, casual, and relational posts.

Purpose: The purpose of this article is to analyse the possibilities and limitations of using the educational game “Eko Smakosz” in academic teaching, as well as to evaluate the potential of adapting its mechanics for managerial training and scientific research.

Design/methodology/approach: A case study method was employed, comprising quantitative research (pre-test and post-test) and qualitative research (participant observation and DATA model debriefing).
