Research on managerial voice endorsement has primarily focused on the processes and conditions through which voicers receive their managers’ endorsement. We shift this focus away from the voicers, focusing instead on the dual reactions that endorsement generates for observing employees. Drawing from an approach-avoidance framework, we propose that managerial endorsement of coworker voice could be perceived as a positive and negative stimulus for observers, prompting them to approach opportunities and avoid threats, respectively. Results from a pre-registered experiment and a multi-wave, multi-source field study revealed that managerial endorsement of coworker voice was positively related to observers’ voice instrumentality, thus prompting …

Using establishment-level data of U.S. public firms, we construct a novel measure of geographic linkage between firms. We show that the returns of geography-linked firms have strong predictive power for focal firm returns and fundamentals. This effect is distinct from other cross-firm return predictability and is not easily attributable to risk-based explanations. It is more pronounced for focal firms that receive lower investor attention, are more costly to arbitrage, and during high sentiment periods. The cross-firm information spillovers and return predictability are also stronger for geographic peers with economic linkages and with positive information. Our results are broadly consistent with …

The emergence of generative AI technologies has led to an increasing number of people collaborating with AI to produce creative works. Across two experimental studies, in which we carefully designed and programmed state-of-the-art human–AI interfaces, we examine how the design of generative AI systems influences human creativity (poetry writing). First, we find that people were most creative when writing a poem on their own, compared to first receiving a poem generated by an AI system and using sophisticated tools to edit it (Study 1). In this article I examine recent theoretical and empirical exchanges around partnership-based urban governance between North Atlantic and Chinese academics and policymakers. I argue that the latest wave of de jure private–public partnerships in urban China reflects an ongoing process of governance rescaling beyond conventional entrepreneurial urbanism theory. I propose an analytical framework that foregrounds successive experimental partnerships as tensions between institutional continuity and change arising from rescaling. In this study I examine variegated actually existing partnerships in Jiyuan, China, to identify generalizable ideal types of partnership-driven governance rescaling. The research utilizes extensive datasets and advanced statistical methods to provide nuanced insights into strategic IT decisions. Essay one examines the performance implications of mirroring the IT infrastructure resource allocation decisions of various leading firms, including leading IT firms (identified by InformationWeek), industry firms (based on performance), and business strategy firms (based on performance) through the lens of mimetic isomorphism. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion gained unprecedented popularity from 2019 to 2022. The tide turned in 2023, and Anti-DEI legislation continues to gain momentum nationwide. This backlash may be warranted, as research demonstrates that DEI can backfire. DEI programs remain unregulated, understudied, and often paradoxically under-supported despite their potential to catalyze positive social change. However, empirical research on gamification's effect on intrinsic motivation in using ERP is limited. Hence, we examined the intrinsic motivational effects of a gamified ERP environment in this research. We created a Gamified Web Application linked to SAP ERP to investigate how gamification affects users' behavioral intention. This study explores the application of deep transfer learning to accurately classify major corn diseases from leaf images, aiming to enhance disease management strategies for improved agricultural productivity and sustainability. The customized Dense net 201 model achieved 95% prediction accuracy on an untrained dataset. Data augmentation improved the model’s accuracy from 91% to 95%. Researchers have underscored the importance of task-focused conflict and adaptive leadership in fostering positive conflict outcomes. Much of the existing literature on generative AI applications is conflicting, with findings suggesting that investing in AI will lead to better organizational outcomes but also pointing out that incorporating AI may be a wasteful even counterproductive initiative. We develop a conceptual frame-work to characterize generative AI benefits based on the types of tasks that generative AI may be used for in management. Private digital currency is no longer limited to shadow banking issues but has also entered shadow central banking, putting Bank Indonesia to adopt the CBDC. This study aims to determine the effect of macroeconomic, accessibility, and demographic aspects on CBDC implementation, as well as the impact of publicity on changes in the behavior of economic actors in using CBDC in Indonesia. The results of the study show that GRDP, gini ratio, ICT, and bank accounts have an effect on CBDC. Publicity affects changes in the behavior of economic actors in increasing the conversion of fiat money to CBDC.
