Understanding and enhancing the patient experience can lead to improved healthcare outcomes. The purpose of this study was to capture a comprehensive and nuanced understanding of the patient experience on an inpatient medical teaching unit in order to identify key deficiencies and unmet needs. We then aim to implement a design-thinking methodology to find innovative ways to solve these deficiencies. Here we present the first two phases of this four-phased study. We retrospectively and prospectively collected quantitative data about patient experience with the Canadian Patient Experiences Survey-Inpatient Care. Employee turnover can be costly; estimates for recruiting and training new hires are between 90% and 200% of the employee's annual salary. Understanding employee intent to leave is critical for managers to reduce turnover rates. Grounded in Herzberg’s two-factor model, the purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to examine the relationship between federal government agency employees' perception of their work experience, employee perception of supervisors, and employee intent to leave. Secondary data from 359,120 completed surveys from the 2020 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) were analyzed. Since 2010, more than 50% of the small businesses have failed to sustain profitable operations past the first year in business. Lack of sustainability is important to small business managers because it can lead to business closure. Grounded in the full range leadership theory, the purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to investigate the relationship between transformational, transactional, and passive-avoidant leadership styles, and small business sustainability. Survey data from 128 U.S. small business construction managers were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicated no statistically significant relationship.
