Excessive college student drinking is a complex problem associated with a range of consequences including deaths, injuries, damage, health risks, legal difficulties, and academic problems. State governing boards, trustees and executives have enacted policies aimed at reducing the negative effects of excessive drinking. This study examined influences on university staff members responsible for implementation of alcohol-control policies. Deeper understanding of factors influencing alcohol-control policy implementation may help leaders improve policy making, implementation and attainment of policy objectives.

This article charts the rebranding of the Hibernian Group companies in Ireland to Aviva in a manner that kept business as usual, without harming the rich tradition and brand heritage crafted over 100 years. The paper examines the progression of Hibernian to Aviva through academic literature and the course that Aviva pursued in Ireland to rename an established insurance brand cherished by both the industry and public alike.

Leadership In An Australian Context: Highlighting A Qualitative Investigation With Construct Validity Support, Nezar Faris

The Qualitative Report

This paper highlights how criteria for validity that are usually utilized within quantitative research can be used to provide further validation to fully qualitative research. In this case, the qualitative research utilizes the grounded theory method. This research used the grounded theory to investigate leadership processes in the substantive setting of the Islamic organizations in Australia. The qualitative analysis of qualitative data generated a number of categories that were conceptually unique. Theoretical sampling directed the researcher toward data sources that provided further conceptual uniqueness. This honors project was an application based project performed by Joe Sullivan for the BGSU men’s soccer team. Being a business major, along with a student-athlete for the team, my project ties both of these passions together in the creation of a business plan for the team. I created and explained in detail 5 initiatives that the team can take in order to improve and grow as a program. Bananas are one of Costa Rica’s largest exports, along with coffee, palm oil, and cocoa. The banana plantations are large-scale, are most often run by multinational companies, and are considered to be run as enclave economies (Equal Exchange, 2016). This monoculture crop production has been globally accused of human rights abuses said to include, but not be limited to, violating the rights of indigenous people and loss in culture and tradition. Although it is quite easy to identify women leaders, men continue to occupy the vast majority of leadership roles in the world. It has been argued that one of the reasons for this differential is women's aspirations for leadership are less than men's. Women's leadership aspirations are defined in this chapter as girls' and women's longing for and intentional seeking after a future that catalyze their visions, goals, or calling for themselves into reality, whether or not they use the term leadership to describe their aspirations.

The coffee industry is a cornerstone of Nicaragua’s economy. Coffee production shapes communities and is a major factor in the development of the country. Coffee cooperatives in Nicaragua are often Fairtrade and Organic certified, yet their farmers continue to struggle to secure stable livelihoods. The purpose of this study was to explore and analyze the common traits and operational methods of Nonprofits in regions located outside of Armenia’s capital, Yerevan. A comprehensive organizational analysis using The Six Practices Framework by Crutchfield and Grant (2012), along with additional frameworks and theories were utilized to assess Kapan Women’s Resource Center Nonprofit Organization (KWRC NGO). From the analysis, a strategic plan was developed as well as the projected impact implementation of the plan would have on KWRC NGO, their partners, and their community. Throughout studying the impacts of investments on facilities and its potential impacts on Men’s Basketball overall success within the conferences we were able to find some indicators that would suggest the financial investments do have an impact but we would need to study more teams to see a possible statistical significance. Although statistical significance was not found within the current study (.13 was found with an alpha set at .10) my suggestion and observations throughout this study show that facilities play a major role in the overall success of a program and spending will continue to take place as the …

Perhaps the greatest reminder of the economic inequities in American society is the drastic deficiencies in educational outcomes, based on class and race. Birmingham, Alabama, vividly portrays this reality. Families with means send their children to private schools and/or concentrate in the suburbs, leaving largely poor, and oftentimes, predominantly minority in densely populated crime-ridden areas with suboptimal schooling. The schooling patterns are clearly reflected in the economic outcomes, though Black are a majority in the city they are vastly underrepresented in the middle to upper middle class, while grossly overrepresented among those in poverty. Leading Economic Indicator Reports

The Leading Economic Indicator – Nebraska (LEI-N) 1 fell by 0.88% during April of 2017. The decline followed three months of rapid increase in January through March, implying a moderation in the outlook for the Nebraska economy in late 2017. Among the components of the indicator, business expectations were strong during April while the value of the U.S. dollar fell, which is a positive sign for Nebraska’s export-oriented businesses. However, manufacturing hours, building permits and airline passenger counts all declined during April, while initial claims for unemployment insurance rose.
