The sales process is undergoing a revolution as a result of social media and related technological advancements. Although each step of the sales process is being affected, the most drastically altered step is likely the sales call. The purpose of this research is to examine the impact the type of sales call used by sellers has on both the buyer’s evaluation of the salesperson and the seller’s attribution of sale call success or failure. Business Interruption (BI) insurance is not popular among the operators/owners of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria. This study is an attempt to investigate causes of SMEs’ failure and to assist the owners on how to use BI to protect both the physical assets as well as future profits of their businesses. 2015 – Project Justification – Addressing An Urgent Water Supply Need For A Disadvantaged Community In The Greater Monterey County Irwm Region

One hundred percent of Castroville’s water supply comes from the 400-foot aquifer of the Pressure sub-basin of the Salinas Valley Groundwater Basin. Groundwater levels in the aquifer dropped more than 100 feet below the seal level as of July 2015 at static conditions. Water levels dropped to more than 190 feet below the mean sea level during operation of the water well. The dramatic drop combined with the close proximity of the Pacific Ocean (less than 4 miles) and to existing seawater intrusion (less than ¼ mile) raised significant alarm that the existing water supply system to Castroville was imminently …

A report prepared in support of preventing revocation of Permit 1043 (State of California Division of Water Rights Permit for Diversion of Use of Water – Amended Permit 11043 dated 110-Jul-49) that allows for appropriation of water from the Salinas River in Monterey County California not to exceed 400 cfs with annual maximum diversion not to exceed 168,538 acre feet per year. The report addresses the potential beneficial uses of diverting water to help increase groundwater levels in the Pressure and East Side Subareas that would in turn help to control seawater intrusion.

Recommendations regarding improved representation of cropland locations, rotations, and irrigation practices are provided.

Small businesses in the Central Business District of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania were surveyed to determine their familiarity with and attitudes towards environmental sustainability, including obstacles and motivators for implementation as well as current business practices. While publications on similar topics existed for small businesses in other countries, there appeared to be little recent published research for small business communities in the United States. The research used a combination of online surveys and interviews with business owners and managers to gather data, as well as an extensive literature review for the basis of the analysis. Using Reflective Practice To Support Management Student Learning: Three Brief Assignments, Anne H. Reilly

School of Business: Faculty Publications and Other Works

Reflective practice supports critical thinking and assessment skills through analyzing one’s own life experiences, and the role of reflection in learning has been long recognized. However, drawbacks of many reflective practice assignments are their broad scope and lengthy written requirements. I propose that the reflection process is robust enough to support management student learning through short written tasks as well. Three examples of brief reflective assignments are presented suitable for management educators teaching undergraduate, graduate, or non-credit learners: (1) writing an organizational story, (2) a reflection about learning from adversity, and (3) a goal-oriented personal change.
