Effects Of The Basel Iii Liquidity Risk Metrics On U.S. Bank Performance And Stability, Cecelia Mundt

This paper investigates the effects of Basel III’s liquidity metrics on profitability and stability on a subset of U.S banks from 2002 to 2014. The profitability and stability of each of these banks were calculated under the scenario of shifting 1% of its overall assets from illiquid to liquid. The empirical findings demonstrate a negative relationship between holding higher liquidity and bank profitability. It finds that this negative relationship is disproportionate across the bank classes with savings banks losing profitability at almost twice the rate as national banks. Women hold 51.7% of the jobs in the U.S. job market.[2] This MSR issue focuses on the status of these groups in the business world. The reason for this emphasis is that most MSR writers and readers are millennials (which is defined as people between the ages of 18-24) and all of us work with or for women (as well as some of us are women).

Generation is a much discussed topic in the literature on workforce training and education. The simultaneous presence of numerous generations in the workforce has created tensions, challenges, and opportunities. In collegiate flight training, the Millennial generation is giving way to the post-Millennial generation, which will bring its own learning style and priorities to the cockpit. This presentation reviews the scientific literature on generational differences, identifying which differences are actually supported by data. Eliminating health disparities is a priority across national agenda and initiatives such as the National Partnership for Action to End Health Disparities (NPA), the National Prevention Strategy, and Healthy People 2020. To advance this priority under the NPA, the Federal Interagency Health Equity Team (FIHET), which is an NPA federal cross-sector and collaborative platform, initiated a voluntary pilot “health equity mapping” exercise in 2014. Controlling costs is a critical ingredient in achieving profitability in the airline industry. Typically, labor costs are the second highest cost category for airlines. Some components of labor costs, such as pay and benefits, are easy to calculate. Turnover costs, however, are not easy to calculate, and are often underestimated. This paper builds a model for examining turnover costs for pilots in Part 135 carriers, and tests the model empirically in a Part 135 carrier. The model provides a framework to assist airlines in estimating turnover costs for pilots. The case study of a Part 135 cargo operator showed that …

Scientific funding within the academy is an often complicated affair involving disparate and competing interests. Private universities, for instance, are vastly outpacing public institutions in garnering large, prestigious grants. Inequities also extend to the kinds of research funded, with government, corporate, and even military interests privileging certain types of inquiry.This work proposes an innovative type of research fund using cryptocurrencies, a fast growing asset class. Although not a total funding solution, staking coins, specifically, can be strategically invested in to yield compound interest. An Improved Fuzzy Time Series Theory With Applications In The Shanghai Containerized Freight Index, Ming-Tao Chou

This study presents fuzzy time series based on the concept of long-term predictive significance level. Fuzzy time series theory and structural analysis are used to develop a long-term predictive significance level for evaluating the suitability of historical data. New triangular fuzzy numbers by S are subsequently obtained using the graded mean integration representation method. Finally, △S can strengthen fuzzy time series data for a series and yield additional information. The Shanghai Containerized Freight Index is used to illustrate the forecasting process. The results indicate that the proposed definition can generate forecast levels that provide more information for analysis.
