A Survey Of Selected Corporate Practices Which Influence Exit Interviewing Techniques Among Kentucky Manufacturing Firms, Barry Landis

Masters Theses & Specialist Projects

The purpose of the present study was to examine organizational practices related to exit interviewing techniques. Prior research has neglected the study of the variables which cause the use of the exit interview to fluctuate, focusing rather on the study of the validity and format of the exit interview. The present study, by means of a questionnaire, cross-tabulated certain independent variables with the dependent variables contained in the questionnaire and found that at least three independent variables significantly affected use of the interview: (1) the size of the company (2) unionization of the company and (3) the annual turnover rate …

An Analysis Of Hospital Temperature Maintenance And Tray Assembly Systems : An Industry Project, Frank John Dewerff

FIU Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Every hospital, private or public, profit or nonprofit, no matter the size, has the task of feeding its patients three times a day plus nourishments. The meals must be served during a short period of time to patients in their rooms which are spread throughout the hospital. The meals must be therapeutically balanced, attractive, the hot foods hot and the cold foods cold, and they must be nutritious. The meals in a hospital differ from those served in restaurants in that all of the courses are served at one time which means that there is greater importance placed on temperature …

An Operator's Manual For The Reservation And Registration Monitors Of The Moby Data Hospitality System, Mark William Nemtzow

FIU Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Everyone associated with the industry and data processing has contributed to this delay: manufacturers have been very slow to identify and recognize the potential that exists in the hotel industry; data processors have often unwisely attempted to apply the successful solutions of other industries' problems to the hospitality industry; and lodging management has demonstrated little interest and contributed inadequate amounts of physical and economical resources.

The initial attempt by the hotel industry to utilize the computer now …

Patterns Of Management Thought: The Search For New Perspectives, Howard M. Carlisle May 1976

Patterns Of Management Thought: The Search For New Perspectives, Howard M. Carlisle

Faculty Honor Lectures

the past several years, I have noticed that the presenters have typically done two things: they have reviewed some of their most significant research or theoretical contributions, and they have engaged in some freewheeling speculations or prescriptions about future trends. I intend to do both of these tonight. I would like to report on several aspects of contingency or situational theories of management where I have done most of my publishing, and I would also like to express some personal concerns and prescriptions I propose to improve the effectiveness of organizations

During the past several years, there has been much discussion and controversy over what should be taught in high school mathematics, in general, and in high school geometry, in particular. Numerous mathematicians have encouraged the teaching of transformations as part of the standard high school mathematics curriculum[1-4,6-9]. The results of a recent survey of high school teachers of mathematics indicate that 19% have taught geometric transformations, 26% feel adequately prepared to teach such a topic, and 50% would like to teach the topic if materials were available for the average college prep student[5].
