(April 4, 2022) – The String Band Summit conference, held at East Tennessee State University from April 8-10, allows participants to experience and consider music from a broader perspective. JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – East Tennessee State University signed two articulation agreements aimed at expanding opportunities for students who want to pursue careers in the health sciences.
One agreement provides students who achieve an Associate of Arts and Science degree at Virginia Highlands Community College (VHCC), located in Abingdon, Virginia, with the opportunity to transfer those credits to ETSU to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology (Exercise Science), Public Health (Community Health concentration), or Rehabilitative Health Sciences.

For Mylan Hutchins, a human services major with a double minor in special education and American Sign Language (ASL), service is a calling. Originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, Hutchins came to East Tennessee State University as one of her first steps into what has evolved into a fulfilling journey of self-discovery.

NACE is the National Association of Collegiate Esports. This event is an annual fundraiser for the Junior Appalachian Musicians Program (JAM) at University School. It will include several student groups performing Appalachian music throughout the event. The college’s Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International (CPFI) chapter earned a $450 Hands and Feet grant, which they used to create care packages in conjunction with Agape Women's Services in Johnson City to help expectant mothers through the process of pregnancy and early motherhood. The packages include diapers, wipes, vitamins, supplements, baby bottles, pacifiers, and Bibles. When Abby Lopp, a first-year pharmacy student at East Tennessee State University Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy, received the report back of how her body processes different pharmaceutical compounds, also called her pharmacogenomics (PGx) profile, it shined new light on her medical history.
