We often think of branding in association with products, personalities and organizations. And of course the internet is one of the major tools used to achieve this. The internet and social media have opened up a whole universe of applications. Our paper looks at this from a number of different perspectives and we believe there is some real potential here to go beyond the …

This proposed research provides a framework towards the understanding and prediction of the role and influence of culture in contemporary international accounting and financial reporting as well as need to address culture if IFRS is to be successful.

Many smaller insurance agents and brokers are losing ground as a result of sluggish economic growth. Much of the dwindling market share is due in part to an unstable and hostile economic market, negligible leveraging capability, and inability to adapt swiftly to constant social and economical changes. As more distribution networks form, the value of insurance professionalism is diminishing. In the insurance industry, the customer’s need for proper insurance protection should be considered the single most important commitment by the firm. With the present drive to classify insurance products as a convenience good that can be purchased with minimum effort, …

The failure to recognize and then to adapt to environmental change, it is recognized, can mitigate a profession s significance, impact adversely on its viability, and render it ineffective. Professions associated with the sciences, with politics and the law, with education, and with the arts have all had to be sensitive to such changes. Social Reponsibility And The Professional, Nicholas M. Zacchea

Faculty Works: Business (1973-2022)

Business as an institution exists primarily because it is sanctioned by society. It is therefore inevitable that the business community and its professional members will fall into step with society’s expectations. Adam Smith, in his “Wealth of Nations,” believed that, as each businessman pursued his own self-interests, the public good would be served. While no one can deny that the public good has certainly benefited from business, neither can anyone deny that certain segments of society have not always fared as well as others and have indeed suffered. Fortunately, however, social commitment, or the tangible expression of concern for society’s …
