Blockchain In The Food Industry: Integrating Machine Learning In A Systematic Literature Review, Juan M. Gómez, Omar H. Fares, Myuri Mohan, Seung Hwan Lee

Journal of International Technology and Information Management

This study provides a systematic literature review of blockchain technology in the food industry with a supply chain lens. We identify primary and sub-themes, discuss implications and applications in terms of delivering value and propose literature-informed future research directions. This review uncovered three primary themes: a) Value Creation; b) Supply Chain Digitization; and c) Transformation. It demonstrates that digitalizing food networks with blockchain technology may benefit from increased stakeholder involvement and data visibility to gain competitive advantage. Beyond the theoretical contributions, this research provides a methodological contribution by demonstrating the uses of machine learning techniques to perform systematic literature reviews.

Digital Collectibles: Exploring Non-Fungible Tokens (Nfts) Through Twitter Messages, Peter Haried, James Murray Jan 2023

Digital Collectibles: Exploring Non-Fungible Tokens (Nfts) Through Twitter Messages, Peter Haried, James Murray

Journal of International Technology and Information Management

The growing popularity of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) has created a new digital collectibles asset class and market. NFTs are unique digital tokens built on blockchain technology that can represent anything from art, property rights, certificates of authentication to sports collectibles. The use of blockchain provides the framework for digital ownership and brings the notion of scarcity to the digital NFT asset class. With the emerging NFT market and growing consumer base little work has investigated the factors behind NFT interest and participation. Using a dataset of 26,444 tweets on NBA Top Shot, one of the largest and most popular NFT …

Supply Chain Management Integration With Blockchain, Venkat Veramallu Dec 2021

Supply Chain Management Integration With Blockchain, Venkat Veramallu

Electronic Theses, Projects, and Dissertations

Maintaining the integrity of data within the supply chain is a challenge. Many current implementations lack a capability to provide a trustworthy system for the stakeholders in a supply chain, making communication amongst stakeholders easy but unreliable. Organizations are considering blockchain technology as it provides access control, immutability, transparency and trust amongst the stakeholders in a supply chain. This project is an investigative study on the benefits and challenges of implementing blockchain technology in supply chain management, a framework for integration of blockchain technology, and a project prototype which shows a blockchain use case implementation in supply chain management. The …

Other industries where Blockchain technology has been effective in are as follows: supply chain management, logistics, and banking. This paper reviews some statistical information regarding automobile collisions, Blockchain technology, Smart Contracts, Smart Cities; assesses the feasibility …

Reshaping Organizational Processes And Workflows Through Integration Of Blockchain Technology, Elijah E. Maggini May 2021

Reshaping Organizational Processes And Workflows Through Integration Of Blockchain Technology, Elijah E. Maggini

Electronic Theses, Projects, and Dissertations

Cybercrime is becoming increasingly sophisticated and devastating as time carries on while many processes and workflows that exist within organizations are stagnant. This project analyzed Blockchain Technology as a use-case for building upon simple processes and workflows that are often overlooked within organizations for the purpose of hardening security and strengthening non-repudiation. This project examined three main questions relating to; how Blockchain can enhance traditional cyber security practices, how Blockchain can be introduced to organizations as a ground-breaking and worthwhile solution to countering cyber-attacks, and the benefits and risks of implementing Blockchain within an organization. An investigation of traditional cyber …

Docs_On_Blocks – A Defense In Depth Strategy For E-Healthcare, Saad Mohammed

Electronic Theses, Projects, and Dissertations

With the increase in the data breaches and cyber hacks, organizations have come to realize that cyber security alone would not help as the attacks are becoming more sophisticated and complex than ever. E-Healthcare industry has shown a promising improvement in terms of security over the past, but the threat remains. Thus, the E-Healthcare industries are aiming towards a Defense in Depth Strategy approach.

The project here describes how a Defense in Depth Strategy for E-Healthcare system can provide an environment for better security of the data and peer-to-peer interaction with stakeholders. The legacy systems have at some point failed …

A Framework Of Blockchain Technology, Frank Lin, Danny Chung, Conrad Shayo, Francisca Beer Mar 2020

A Framework Of Blockchain Technology, Frank Lin, Danny Chung, Conrad Shayo, Francisca Beer

Communications of the IIMA

With the introduction of Bitcoin by Nakamoto (2008), came a key underlying technology that holds great disruptive promise to many crucial industries: Blockchain. The nature of a decentralized, distributed ledger will truly change the way we currently trade and interact through its clear transparency and high integrity (Casey & Vigna, 2018; Sullivan, 2015). Based on trust, Blockchain allows various parties to be involved in transacting with each other without the need to know each other (Botsman, 2017; Deloitte, 2016; Drescher, 2017; Mauri, 2017). The purpose of this paper is to provide a framework for Blockchain by focusing on how Blockchain …
