Feasibility Of An Family Entertainment Center In Antwerp (Belgium) - Indoor Park, Harrison Price Company

Harrison "Buzz" Price Papers

Rafael Eschenheimer of the Bromley company retained the Harrison Price Company (HPC) to analyze the feasibility of a large indoor “family entertainment center” (FEC) in Antwerp, Belgium. HPC staff travelled to Antwerp to meet with the client, gather research data and review potential sites for the project. The concept for the project was derived from prior visits by the client to an existing facility operating in a 58,000 square-foot building in Paramus, New Jersey named Sport World. HPC staff visited that facility when in route to Belgium. The report contains findings and conclusions of the study. The specific tasks set …

Monday Night Football, Richard C. Crepeau

On Sport and Society

It is the twenty-fifth Anniversary of Monday Night Football. The other networks laughed when ABC announced it was going to take NFL football into prime time. Who would watch? By Monday everyone was suffering from football burnout what with the College games on Saturday, and the double network double-headers on Sunday. It just wouldn't work.

The Warnbro Sound Crab Fishery Draft Management Plan., Fiona Crowe Nov 1994

The Warnbro Sound Crab Fishery Draft Management Plan., Fiona Crowe

Fisheries management papers

In recent years fishing effort for the blue summer/manna crabs (Portunus pelagicus) in Warnbro Sound has increased dramatically and concerns have been raised about the state of stocks of crabs in Warnbro Sound. As a result of the increased pressure being put on the limited resource, the relationship between professional and recreational user groups has become sensitive. It is therefore appropriate that measures ensure the responsible management of the Warnbro Sound Crab Fishery be introduced. Gear, bag limit and size restrictions on the taking of blue swimmer crabs by recreational fishermen already exists as part of the the overall recreational …

The New Auditor's Report: Have The Benefits Of Wording Changes Been Acknowledged Outside The Cpa Profession?, Marshall A. Geiger

Accounting Faculty Publications

CPAs use the auditor's report to communicate their opinions of an entity's financial statements and related disclosures. Concerned parties, in turn, use the report to assess the integrity of the financial statements and the accuracy of the disclosures.

In 1988, the American Institute of CPAs auditing standards board established new wording for the standard unqualified audit report. It also revised the reporting requirements and types of audit reports allowed (for example, the subject-to report for uncertainties and except-for report for consistency departures were eliminated). The new wording appears in Statement on Auditing Standards no. 58, Reports on Audited Financial Statements …

Racial Barriers To African American Entrepreneurship: An Exploratory Study, Joe E. Feagin, Nikitah Imani Nov 1994

Racial Barriers To African American Entrepreneurship: An Exploratory Study, Joe E. Feagin, Nikitah Imani

Black Studies Faculty Publications

Much has been written in the ethnic entrepreneurship literature about the contrasting business performance of African American entrepreneurs and those from other minority and immigrant groups. Yet very little research has been conducted by social scientists on the business experiences of black entrepreneurs. In this exploratory study we examine the situation of black contractors in the U.S. construction industry, utilizing 76 in-depth interviews in one of the South's metropolitan areas. We document the nuanced character of the racial barriers faced by black contractors in several areas of the construction industry. We find racial discrimination in unions, in white general contractors' …

Leadership With A Purpose (Boston), C. William Pollard

C. William Pollard Papers

Speaking at Gordon College (Boston), Pollard notes that in light of a changing socio-economic landscape, it is all the more important that Christians consider the marketplace to be a place of potential ministry. In this way, business leadership becomes leadership with a purpose, namely that of honoring God and serving others.

No World Series: Revisit 1991, Richard C. Crepeau

On Sport and Society

This should have been the week that the 1994 World Series came to an end. Instead we can all read on a daily basis that the only baseball action is off the field with general managers and managers being fired and hired, players released, and the two sides in the labor dispute seldom even meeting with one another.
