Are The Housing Staff Alright? A Hermeneutic Phenomenological Examination Of The Experiences Of On-Campus Student Housing Professionals Through The Covid-19 Pandemic, Megan J. Chibanga

Teacher Education, Educational Leadership & Policy ETDs

College and university housing professionals served a role they were generally underprepared for as long-term crisis managers during the global COVID-19 pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic interrupted and shifted higher education operating structures on a grand scale, and housing staff were asked to continue operating on-campus housing facilities throughout the ever-changing response to COVID-19. The purpose of this hermeneutic phenomenological study was to understand the lived experiences of housing professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through the collective experiences of 21 participants three major threads emerged: comfort in the unknown, a need for connection and community, and relentless resilience. Each of these …

Expanding The Dimensionality Of Team Deviance: An Organizing Framework And Review, Trevor Spoelma, Tamanna Chauhan Jan 2023

Expanding The Dimensionality Of Team Deviance: An Organizing Framework And Review, Trevor Spoelma, Tamanna Chauhan

Faculty and Staff Publications

Although team deviance is known to detract from team functioning, extant literature largely focuses on deviance that is independently enacted and directed internally toward other members. This relatively narrow focus poses limitations to the practical application of strategies to reduce the incidence and negative impact of team deviance. We offer a four-dimensional typology that takes into account features of team deviance that are important yet undertheorized: level of coordination and target membership. We use this typology to summarize current research, highlight the narratives on team deviance that underlie each dimension, and discuss how to advance the research domain.

Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications

Original scientific paper Abstract: A new growing area of the neutrosophic set theory called complex neutrosophic sets (CNS) provides useful tools for dealing with uncertainty in complex valued physical variables that are observed in the actual world. A CNS takes values for the truth, indeterminacy and falsity membership functions in the complex plane's unit circle. In this research, a novel concept of complex fermatean neutrosophic graph (CFNG) is established and various basic graphical ideas such as the order, size, degree and total degree of a vertex of it are introduced. Also, set theoretical operations such as complement, union, join, ring-sum …

In this paper, we introduce the concepts of Pythagorean fuzzy valued neutrosophic set (PFVNS) and Pythagorean fuzzy valued neutrosophic (PFVNV) constructed by considering Pythagorean fuzzy values (PFVs) instead of numbers for the degrees of the truth, the indeterminacy and the falsity, which is a new extension of intuitionistic fuzzy valued neutrosophic set (IFVNS). By means of PFVNSs, the degrees of the truth, the indeterminacy and the falsity can be given in Pythagorean fuzzy environment and more sensitive evaluations are made by a decision maker in decision making problems compared to IFVNSs. In other words, such sets enable a decision maker …

Applications Of Extended Plithogenic Sets In Plithogenic Sociogram, S. Sudha, Nivetha Martin, Florentin Smarandache

Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications

The theory of plithogeny developed by Smarandache is described as a more generalized form of representing sets of different nature such as crisp, fuzzy, intuitionistic and neutrosophic. Plithogenic set comprises degree of appurtenance and contradiction degree with respect only to the dominant attribute. This paper introduces extended plithogenic sets comprising degrees of appurtenance and contradiction with respect to both dominant and recessive attributes. The extension of the 5-tuple Plithogenic sets to a 7- tuple plithogenic sets helps in developing a more comprehensive kind of Plithogenic sociogram. The newly developed plithogenic sets and its implications in Plithogenic sociogram is validated by …

The selection of adequate personnel is significant for the successful operation of companies. Therefore, this article observed the application of the Preference Selection Index (PSI) method for evaluating personnel in the conditions of group decision-making. The PSI method was chosen because it does not require determining the weights of the criteria, which is why it can be suitable for application by HR managers unfamiliar with the application of multiple criteria decision-making methods.

The Temporal complex neutrosophic set (TCNS) is an effective structure for resolving information that has uncertain, indeterminate, and timerelated factors in decision-making problems. In the last decade, many researchers focused on estimating the vagueness and ambiguity in knowledge using the theory of neutrosophic sets or extensions of neutrosophic sets. Similarity and entropy measures are valuable tools to measure information with the aim of dealing with real-life multi-criteria decisionmaking (MCDM) problems. However, the existing method did not care or interest in the information measures of TCNS. This paper proposes several new similarity and entropy measures under the TCNS environment. The suggested …

I Wish You Were Here: An Autoethnographic Study On A Story Of Grief And The Role Of Psychological Capital, Christina Albright

Organization, Information and Learning Sciences ETDs

We have all experienced grief. The death of a person or pet, the death of a relationship or end of a job, and even disappointments carry with them experiences of grief. Whenever someone or something dies, we try to make meaning of the situation to find some closure and move toward a new normal. Meaning making occurs as we tell our stories, share our experiences, and sort through memories. Qualitative research is much the same. In qualitative research one might hear, see, or experience a story, then sort through the details, looking for ways to explain and bring meaning and …

Neutrosophic Logic is a general framework for unification of many existing logics, such as fuzzy logic (especially intuitionistic fuzzy logic), paraconsistent logic, intuitionistic logic, etc.

In 2019 Smarandache generalized the classical Algebraic Structures to NeutroAlgebraic Structures (or NeutroAlgebras) {whose operations and axioms are partially true, partially indeterminate, and partially false} as extensions of Partial Algebra, and to AntiAlgebraic Structures (or AntiAlgebras) {whose operations and axioms are totally false}, and he continued to develop them and extend a Structure in any field to the NeutroStructure and AntiStructure.

The NeutroAlgebras & AntiAlgebras are a new field of research, which is inspired from …

Creative procedural generation requires, by its nature, a nondeterministic result. Each set of outputs has to satisfy the required criteria and, at the same time, has to show unique results to be considered creative. One of the keys to increasing nondeterminism is to use fuzzy neutrosophic sets. A combination of a CoCoSo multi-criteria decision algorithm with a genetic algorithm to generate game scenes was proposed. The algorithm satisfies the required game rules and improves the aesthetics value of the visual game scene. The proposed approach seeks to produce a creative solution which satisfies the replayability principle, when the solution is …
