This research attempts to study the usage of computerised accounting system, with the focus on accounting software usage, in small and medium companies. This research covers 4 areas, • which are the basis of requirements and selection, maintaining and impact of the system on the performance of small and medium companies. A sample of 250 small and medium companies is selected for the purpose of this research. This study aims to investigate the relationship between the growth of private limited companies and economic factors such as interest rate, the rate of inflation, the cooperative income tax rate, the GDP growth rate and the unemployment rate during the last business cycle (1986 - 1996). The results show that the net growth rate of new private limited companies is correlated positively with the CDP growth rate. However, it has a negative, albeit weak, correlation with the interest rate. The purpose of this study is to examine the adequacy of benefits provided by the Employees Provident Fund to its members. A sample of 21,722 members who have attained the age of 54 years and actively contributing to the fund were selected for the study. Problem. Since 1995, with the realization that by 2005 more than 61% of executives in the senior ranks of the Canadian Public Service would be eligible for retirement (La Releve, 1998), the need to recruit and develop competent leaders has become a matter of urgent attention.

Method. Public sector leaders were surveyed by mail-in questionnaires as to their ratings of a set of leadership competencies.
