This research constructs a mathematical scheme to explore replenishment-shipment decisions for a multiproduct producer-client coordinated finite production rate (FPR) model with the postponement, rework, and subcontracting plan. The considered multiple goods have a common component, and a batch FPR fabrication with postponement is planned to meet the annual multiproduct requirements. The first fabricating phase makes only the standard components needed for a batch and subcontracts a proportion of them (with additional cost) to expedite the process. In contrast, the second fabricating phase produces the finished multiple merchandise in sequence. The in-house rework processes with extra expense help retain the desirable …

Integrating large-scale renewable energy resources into the power grid poses several operational and economic problems due to their inherently stochastic nature. The lack of predictability of renewable outputs deteriorates the power grid’s reliability. The power system operators have recognized this need to account for uncertainty in making operational decisions and forming electricity pricing. In this regard, this dissertation studies three aspects that aid large-scale renewable integration into power systems. 1. We develop a nonparametric change point-based statistical model to generate scenarios that accurately capture the renewable generation stochastic processes; 2. Riding Off Into The Sunset: Dual-Class Structure In The Age Of Unicorns Going Public, Hao Liang, Junho Park, Wei Zhang

The increasing adoption of dual-class shares (DCS)—an ownership structure that gives corporate insiders greater voting power than other shareholders—among newly listed companies has raisedsignificant governance concerns. We investigate the decision to adopt the DCS structure and itsvalue implications in the recent U.S. IPOs. Using founder cultural traits and Silicon Valley lawfirms as instrumental variables, we find significant post-IPO outperformance by firms adopting DCSwith a sunset clause, especially incapacity-based sunset which stipulates that the DCS will ceaseafter founders’ death, incapacitation or departure, compared to non-DCS firms and DCS firms without sunsets. In this paper, we characterize the position of Singapore in global value chains and identify Singapore’s key upstream and downstream trade partners. We trace how the position of Singapore in global value chains has changed in the past two decades: whether it has moved upstream or downstream, how involved it is in global value chains, how its trend compares with the other major Asian exporters (China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong), and which key sectors of Singapore play a major role in these global trade networks.

A Consumer Perspective On Managing The Consequences Of Chain Liability, Julia Hartmann, Sebastian Forkmann, Sabine Benoit, Stephan C. Henneberg

Consumers tend to hold a focal firm responsible for its suppliers' unsustainable practices (chain liability), suggesting that firms need effective responses that can mitigate negative consumer reactions. In applying psychological contract theory to investigate recovery efforts related to such chain liability, the current study addresses three broad focal firm responses: Do nothing, choose a nonsubstantive response that verbally clarifies its own and the supplier's roles in the incident, or substantively rectify the supplier's wrongdoing with sustainability-focused responses, such as termination, monitoring or development. While the field experiment is a powerful and well-established method to investigate causal relationships, operations management (OM) has embraced this methodology only in recent years. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the existing OM literature leveraging field experiments and serves as a one-stop guide for future application of field experiments in the OM area. We start by recapping the characteristics that distinguish field experiments from other common types of experiments and organizing the relevant OM studies by topic. يهدف يهدف الباحث من الدراسة الحالية هو معرفة الدور الذي تؤديه استراتيجية السينات الخمسة (S5) في جودة المنتج ضمن الشركة قيد البحث , وتوضيح علاقة الارتباط والتأثير بين متغيرات البحث, ولأجل تحقيق هذا الغرض قام الباحث بتصميم مخطط افتراضي يوضح طبيعة العلاقة بين متغيرات البحث. اعتمد الباحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي, حيث تم تطبيق الجانب الميداني للبحث في شركة مصافي الوسط ,اذ تم اختيار عينة الدراسة بصورة قصدية من اجل الحصول على افضل نتائج, اذ بلغ حجم العينة (196), وتم توزيع 196 استمارة استبانة استرجع منها 182 استمارة فقط وتم استبعاد 14 استمارة لعدم صلاحيتها للتحليل لذلك تبقى 168 استمارة قابله …

تهدف الدراسة إلى تحليل وقياس تأثير نسب كفاية رأس المال على إدارة الأرباح ، حيث أن نسب كفاية رأس المال هي “خط وقائي” يحمي المصرف من مخاطر فقدان الأعمال داخل وخارج الميزانية العمومية للمصرف ، اذ تلجأ بعض المصارف إلى ممارسة ادارة الارباح من خلال التدخل المقصود في عملية الإفصاح المحاسبي للتأثير على البيانات المحاسبية المعلن عنها والاختيار بين أساليب وسياسات محاسبية بديلة ، باستخدام الفجوات في منهجيات المراجعة أو حرية ومرونة مبادئ ومعايير المحاسبية ، بناءً على أهداف الإدارة . ولتحقيق هذه الأهداف اعتمدت الدراسة على مجموعة من النسب المالية لمؤشر كفاية رأس المال ونموذج (جونز المعدل) لقياس إدارة …

تهدف هذه الدراسة الى بيان العلاقة بين اثر الناتج المحلي الاجمالي على السياسة النقدية التي تعكسها متغيرات السياسة النقدية المختلفة بما فيها داخلية عرض النقود , وحصر تأثير تقلبات عرض النقود كمتغير داخلي وانعكاساتها على مدى قدرة السياسة النقدية في تحقيق أهداف الاستقرار الاقتصادي والنقدي، وضمان استقرار النظام المالي وتحفيز النمو الاقتصادي. إن رأي المختصين في مجال النظرية النقدية يميزون بين اتجاهين فكريين في تفسير طبيعة التغير الحاصل في عرض النقود وهذا التمييز قد وسع من دائرة الجدل والنقاش بشأن مدى فاعلية السياسة النقدية في تحقيق أهدافها عندما يكون عرض النقود متغيراً خارجياً أو داخلياً عن طريق استهداف المجاميع النقدية.

Background: The Irish government has put forth sustainable transport policy measures, yet the emphasis is mainly on the active travel and sustainable mobility for passenger transport. Contrariwise, freight transport has not received equal consideration in policy measures, regulatory frameworks, and support schemes towards the low-carbon transition. Store-in-store franchising or corner franchising is the application of a franchise format within another business, such as big box retailers, supermarkets, and gas stations; and pop-up stores are temporary store formats opened in shopping malls or other venues for a short period. Corporate net zero climate commitments and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) policies have the potential to bypass barriers to international, national, and subnational government action on climate change and other environmental issues. This Article presents the results of a new empirical study that demonstrates the remarkably widespread use of environmental supply chain contracting requirements. The study finds that roughly 80% of the ten largest firms in seven global sectors include environmental requirements in supply chain contracting, a substantial increase over the 50% reported by a comparable study fifteen years ago.
