Lean tools can be implemented in any type of company with a proper evaluation through the creation of Value Stream Map. This paper will demonstrate how a Value Stream Map (VSM) will provide an easier transition to a lean environment. Bayesian Optimization (BO) has recently received increasing attention due to its efficiency in optimizing expensive-to-evaluate functions. For some practical problems, it is essential to consider the path-dependent switching cost between consecutive sampling locations given a total traveling budget. For example, when using a drone to locate cracks in a building wall or search for lost survivors in the wild, the search path needs to be efficiently planned given the limited battery power of the drone. Last mile delivery has become a critical competitive dimension facing retail supply chains. At the same time, the emergence of sharing economy platforms has introduced unique operational challenges and benefits that enable and inhibit retailers’ last mile delivery goals. This dissertation investigates key challenges faced by crowdshipping platforms used in last mile delivery related to crowdsourced delivery drivers, driver-customer interaction, and customer expectations. The company upon which this paper is based engages in flexible packaging production, especially pharmaceutical products with guaranteed quality, trusted by consumers. Its production process includes printing, laminating, and assembling processes. Production activities are done manually and automatically using machines, so various types of waste are often found in these processes, making the level of plant efficiency nonoptimal. Infrastructure development projects are overwhelmingly managed through engineering–procurement–construction (EPC) contracts, which allow a project end user to shift all project risks to a contractor. Accordingly, the International Federation of Consulting Engineers recommended a contract template based on a lump-sum contract between the end user and main contractor. However, EPC projects often suffer from quality issues due to moral hazard, which is aggravated by the involvement of subcontractors hired by the main contractor to perform parts of the project. Online service platforms have transformed how customers and suppliers connect in real-time, using centralized dispatch and pricing systems. However, by acting as "central planners", platforms risk undermining the workers' flexibility endorsed by the gig economy. Hence, there has been significant scrutiny on the classification of gig workers as independent contractors and their freedom in decisions that directly influence their earnings, such as prices. Problem definition: In the blood-donor-management problem, the blood bank incentivizes donors to donate, given blood inventory levels. We propose a model to optimize such incentivization schemes under the context of random demand, blood perishability, observation period between donations, and variability in donor arrivals and dropouts. Methodology/results: We propose an optimization model that simultaneously accounts for the dynamics in the blood inventory and the donor’s donation process, as a coupled queueing network. Specialty drugs, mostly bio based, tend to be high risk, high priced, and more regulated than traditional drugs, resulting in unprecedented challenges in distribution. Problem definition: Shared micromobility vehicles provide an eco-friendly form of short-distance travel within an urban area. Since customers pick up and drop off vehicles in any service region at any time, such convenience often leads to a severe imbalance between vehicle supply and demand in different service regions. Researchers conducted research on banks in Indonesia to assess the effect of credit risk, liquidity risk, and operational risk on banking financial performance. Data is obtained from the IDX website and banks from 38 conventional commercial banks that met the criteria for the 2016-2020 period. Researchers used the fixed-effect model (FEM) to analyze the results of this study.The results of this study indicate that credit and operational risks have a significant effect on the company's financial performance. This study aims to analyze the effect of ESG score and its pillars (environmental, social, and governance score), as a proxy of sustainable companies, on working capital requirements (WCR) and cash conversion cycle (CCC) of Indonesian listing companies for the period 2015-2020. The ESG and pillar scores are obtained from the Thomson Reuters Refinitiv Eikon terminal. The research covers 29 non-financial listed companies in Indonesia in the six years with a total of 174 observations through the purposive sampling technique. This study aims to analyze the effect CEO education, board gender diversity, and firm’s financial dimension on CSR disclosure. The sample used in study includes 22 publicly listed manufacturing firms in the Indonesia Stock Exchange that disclosed their ESG scores during the period of 2015 until 2019. This research used panel data which was later run using fixed effects model data. The result explains that both firm size and CEO education positively impact CSR disclosure at manufacturing firms and the impact is significant.

This study investigates the impact of supply chain resilience and robustness on firm performance and also examines the significance of supply chain risk management (SCRM) in minimizing the consequences of disruptions on supply chain performance in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Data was gathered using convenience sampling technique through a survey from management staff (n=409) working in textile companies operating in Pakistan. This study was conducted to evaluate the variability of net income and return on investment (ROI) as affected by grain yield, cost of production, and gross income across provinces wherein the mechanized dry direct seeding technology was being deployed. The study was conducted during 2019 wet season involving 54 sites from 14 provinces with farmers practicing mechanized dry direct seeding technology under rainfed lowland condition. Motivated by the agricultural industries, this paper studies the economic and environmental implications of biomass commercialization; that is, converting organic waste into a saleable product, from the perspective of a processor that uses a commodity input to produce both a commodity output and biomass. We characterize the economic value of biomass commercialization and examine how input and output spot price uncertainties affect this value. Using a model calibration, we find that lower input spot price variability or higher output spot price variability or correlation between the two spot prices increases this value for a typical palm oil mill. This research assessed the influence of internal marketing on employee performance in the public sector of Ghana, as mediated by organizational commitment. This research was conducted on a total of 300 public sector workers in Ghana, of whom 200 responses were received, representing a response rate of 66.6%. Purposive and convenience sampling techniques were adopted. The PLS-SEM technique was implemented to determine the associations among the variables. E-government implementation success is of critical importance for nations. Prior information systems (IS) success models emphasize the effects of information quality, service quality, system quality, and user satisfaction but do not consider e-government trust. This study incorporates e-government trust into the IS success model and empirically tests the model on empirical findings reported in 67 prior studies using meta-analysis methods and structural equation modeling. Our analysis shows that: a) information quality, service quality, system quality, and user satisfaction influence e-government trust, and b) system use mediates the effect of e-government trust on intention to use e-government systems in the future.
