The aim of this study was to present new mediating and moderating variables in the relationship between online advertising and purchase intention as well as visiting the store. Therefore, a qualitative study of 17 Tunisian Internet users was conducted (semi-structured interview). Results showed that the lifestyle change and the disposition to visit the store are the mediating variables between these consequences and electronic advertising (purchase intention and visiting the store). Furthermore, the involvement with the product is the moderating variable between e-advertising and lifestyle change, including disposition to visit the store.

As part of its continuous process to improve operational excellence and productivity, a retail company in South East Asia trialed the usage of a commercial market retail tool, known as Queue Buster, to improve queue management processes in its physical stores. We employed Queuing Theory to determine the effectiveness of implementing the Queue Buster. Specifically, we constructed a queuing simulation model based on input parameters derived from queuing data collected at a pilot store. Booming e-commerce activities further increase this demand, exerting intense pressure on the cities' well-being. To build a city with congestion and pollution under control, a consolidator can operate an urban consolidation center (UCC) to bundle shipments from multiple carriers before the last-mile delivery. Alternatively, the consolidator can operate a peer-to-peer platform for the carriers to share their delivery capacity. Our objective is to compare the performance of these two business models. A new estimating tool is developed to provide bottom up estimates based on the design patterns of the organization. The research also offers guidelines for extracting the unique design patterns specific to an organization that are used to obtain baseline task level estimates in the Estimating Tool. The purpose of this research is to provide a faster and more efficient method to determine traffic density behavior for long-term congestion management using minimal statistical information. Applications include road work, road improvements, and route choice. To this end, this paper adapts and generalizes two analytical models (for non-peak and peak hours) for the probability mass function of traffic density for a major highway. It then validates the model against real data. Commercial airports are publicly-owned transportation infrastructure, usually funded with bonds. The bond rating decision for these entities thus has important ramifications for bond investors, issuers, airport managers, and even the communities the airports serve, but the rating decision process is not well understood. This paper discusses a simulation of the rating process in two decision environments, including a downgrade. The effect of information framing in an environment of incomplete data is examined using amateur evaluators. To deal with the accompanying increase in traffic and congestion from population and business growth, the city of Portland planned to increase bikeways and reduce the use of single-occupant vehicles to less than 30% of total commuters by 2026. From a task-technology fit perspective, green SCM and green IS are likely to have synergistic effects on corporate sustainability. Yet, the exact mechanisms through which their perceived alignment by employees may exert influences on organizational performances are unclear. This study captures potential enablement and coverage routes at different development stages of sustainability with fit-as-mediation and fit-as-moderation, respectively. The results based on the observations collected from more than 400 organizations in the USA and China suggest that the perceived fit gradually shifts from a moderator role to a mediator role as the two green endeavors integrate with each other.

In this article, the author describes a classroom experiment in which participants make decisions to achieve the lowest-cost production. Student volunteers acting as smartphone companies are provided with confidential information representing their own cost of production and are asked to make trade decisions to form a supply chain at the lowest possible cost. This interactive classroom experiment facilitates an understanding and appreciation of the basic demand and supply model. Students also explore the motivations, facilitators, and impediments of global supply chains.
