Clarifying The Role Of E-Government Trust In E-Government Success Models: A Meta-Analytic Structural Equation Modeling Approach, Apeksha Hooda, Parul Gupta, Anand Jeyaraj, Yogesh K. Dwivedi

ISSCM Faculty Publications

E-government implementation success is of critical importance for nations. Prior information systems (IS) success models emphasize the effects of information quality, service quality, system quality, and user satisfaction but do not consider e-government trust. This study incorporates e-government trust into the IS success model and empirically tests the model on empirical findings reported in 67 prior studies using meta-analysis methods and structural equation modeling. Our analysis shows that: a) information quality, service quality, system quality, and user satisfaction influence e-government trust, and b) system use mediates the effect of e-government trust on intention to use e-government systems in the future.

Social commerce (s-commerce) has gained prominence with advances in social media and social networking technologies over the last decade. Prior research has employed diverse theoretical perspectives to understand and explain consumer behavior within s-commerce but has also produced inconsistent results. This study integrates different theoretical perspectives including trust, social support, and social presence. The research portrays an integrated research model involving factors that impact behavioral intention and use behavior of s-commerce consumers whilst synthesizing prior empirical findings. A meta-analytic structural equation modeling (MASEM) method was used to synthesize 189 findings reported in 68 s-commerce studies and to analyze the structural …

XYZ Company routinely faced penalties imposed by the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for non-compliance in depositing federal withholding taxes related to the managed benefits plans for its clients. Since the rules for depositing the federal taxes were complex and differed between the benefits plans, it was common for XYZ Company to accrue penalties imposed by the IRS. Desiring to eliminate penalties by complying 100% with the IRS guidelines, XYZ Company considered various solutions. Finally, XYZ Company implemented a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solution using the open source tool—taskt—to achieve 100% compliance in depositing federal withholding taxes and eliminate …

A Model Construction For Investigating The Impact Of Enterprise Social Media Affordances On Employees’ Perceived Creativity, Yuan Sun, Chunli Wang, Anand Jeyaraj, Kun Nie

ISSCM Faculty Publications

Enterprise social media (ESM) is increasingly applied in modern enterprises to promote knowledge sharing and social interactions among employees, and has an important potential for enhancing employees’ creativity. However, it is still unclear whether ESM can help boost employee creativity, and the technical design factors that cast ESM as a creativity support system needs investigation. To fill this research gap, this study constructs a research model based on the affordance lens to examine the influences of association and visibility affordances of ESM on employees’ perception of creativity. The moderating role of job autonomy in the relationship between ESM affordances and …

Re-Examining The Unified Theory Of Acceptance And Use Of Technology (Utaut): Towards A Revised Theoretical Model, Anand Jeyaraj, Yogesh K. Dwivedi, Nripendra P. Rana, Marc Clement, Michael D. Williams

ISSCM Faculty Publications

Based on a critical review of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), this study first formalized an alternative theoretical model for explaining the acceptance and use of information system (IS) and information technology (IT) innovations. The revised theoretical model was then empirically examined using a combination of meta-analysis and structural equation modelling (MASEM) techniques. The meta-analysis was based on 1600 observations on 21 relationships coded from 162 prior studies on IS/IT acceptance and use. The SEM analysis showed that attitude: was central to behavioural intentions and usage behaviours, partially mediated the effects of exogenous constructs on …

The Communication & Information (SC) Directorate has centralized the collection and management of Information Technology (IT) requirements used by the center to request, acquire, and install IT related items using a Government Off The Shelf (GOTS) application called the Information Technology Requirements Database (ITRDB). While the ITRDB works sufficiently, a decision was made to pursue ways to increase accountability within the tool for requirements that request: hardware renewals, software renewals, and requirements that stop having forward progress in the process.

Key Performance Indicators In An Agile Supply Chain, Jacob Langston Jan 2017

Key Performance Indicators In An Agile Supply Chain, Jacob Langston

Master of Information Systems Capstone Executive Summary

Agile supply chains offer the flexibility required to support customers who require a “quick response” to demand requirements. Coupled with lean process improvements and integrated solutions, cost-effective supply chains can be established that provide the infrastructure needed to support the agility needed to meet customer demands; ultimately increasing market share and continued growth. While Emerson’s mission to remain an industry leader in the HVAC&R Industry aligns with these aspects of supply chain management, current system infrastructure does not support such flexibility. Multiple execution tools, processes and one-off solutions make it difficult to standardize reporting methodologies for performance metrics. This leads …

Enterprise It Asset Disposition: An Overview And Tutorial, Shu Z. Schiller, Jeff Merhout, Rike Sandlin

ISSCM Faculty Publications

Enterprise IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) addresses the recovery and recycling of an enterprise’s IT assets that are near or at the end of their lifecycle. The aim of ITAD is to maximize the value of investment over the IT asset’s entire lifecycle while guaranteeing data security and protecting against environmental liability. Regulatory requirements mandate specific disposal methods for computing assets, and enterprises face significant risks if they fail to comply. Despite the critical importance of ITAD, many enterprises lack a clear understanding of ITAD and its regulations and struggle with the management of ITAD processes. One solution to this challenge …

Information Technology Impacts On Firm Performance: An Extension Of Kohli And Devaraj (2003), Anand Jeyaraj, Rajiv Sabherwal Dec 2015

Information Technology Impacts On Firm Performance: An Extension Of Kohli And Devaraj (2003), Anand Jeyaraj, Rajiv Sabherwal

ISSCM Faculty Publications

Despite the importance of investing in information technology, research on business value of information technology (BVIT) shows contradictory results, raising questions about the reasons for divergence. Kohli and Devaraj (2003) provided valuable insights into this issue based on a meta-analysis of 66 BVIT studies. This paper extends Kohli and Devaraj by examining the influences on BVIT through a meta-analysis of 303 studies published between 1990 and 2013. We found that BVIT increases when the study does not consider IT investment, does not use profitability measure of value, and employs primary data sources, fewer IT-related antecedents, and larger sample size. Considerations …

Maximize The Value Of Capstone Projects For Your Company, Donald H. Hopkins Jr., Valerie Stueland

ISSCM Faculty Publications

Traditionally, graduate programs (as well as some undergraduate programs) relied on a thesis as means for the student to demonstrate an understanding of the concepts presented to them during the course of the program. In many cases, the thesis was considered an academic deliverable and did not relate directly to the student’s work environment. A more practical approach to validating the student’s ability to demonstrate the new skills and knowledge acquired during the program is the evolution of the capstone project.
