Through a generous donation to Morehead State University, research has been conducted on thousands of slides containing images of artwork and artifacts of historical significance. These images span from Egyptian hieroglyphs to the inaugural dress of every first lady of the United States. The slides are in the process of being recorded and catalogued for future use by students in hopes of furthering academic comprehension and awareness of the influence of fashion and costume history through the ages. International Conference on Gambling & Risk Taking

This presentation will explore the different and conflicting images of gambling and gamblers as reflected in more than 2000 years of art, literature, music, and film. Images of gambling range from sophistication to foolishness, while images of the gambler range from the glamour of James Bond to the buffonery of the Marx Brothers to the tragedy of Dostoevsky. The presentation will conclude with a discussion of the implications of these images for gambling research, awareness, treatment, and prevention.

This research paper explores how dance music has been part of the foundation for musical art in world history and the key to unlocking information concerning societal atmospheres throughout history. With each age and progression of music came new genres, instruments and social beliefs that were woven through religious and secular culture, each of which impacted the production of dance throughout the centuries. Baracksdubs puts words in people’s mouths. Since 2012, this popular YouTube channel has entertained millions through musical mashups of President Obama’s speeches. With over 850,000 subscribers and 170,000,000 views, the dubs have landed on the computer, television, and phone screens of people around the world. I credit Baracksdubs for helping me gain digital media acumen as well as entrepreneurial aptitude.
