For a better part of the past year, I have been responsible for processing the Carol Mundy collection of African American Memorabiliaat the University of Central Florida (UCF). Ms. Mundy has been an avid collector of African Americana since the early 1990swhen she purchased a copy of the 1901 edition of The Complete Life of William McKinley and Story of His Assassination thatincluded a rare correspondence from the U.S. army to the 10th Cavalry of “Buffalo Soldiers.” This discovery was just the first stepin a journey that would take her around the country in her quest to preserve African American …
