This collection consists of printed email exchanges between Joanne J. Hughes and Cora Teel, archivist at Marshall University, and copies of records relating to Henry Peyton and his descendants. This collection consists primarily of correspondence sent from Claudie to family and church members in the United States between 1921 and 1979. Some early letters from the 1920s contain photographs of her time in Africa. Other materials include printed material such as her publication “Twenty Years in Africa”, a Mount Union Sentinal Newsletter, a poster and letter about her book “Forty-Six Years in Africa”, letters from her adopted children in Africa about her estate, negatives of her last visit to Huntington in 1963, unrelated birth announcements sent to family members, and envelopes.

This collection is composed of one letter from A. N. Hill to the Cabell Petroleum Company transferring Hill's rights to William Gray for $1000. The letter is in very poor condition and torn in several places.

This collection consists of correspondence, photographs, a scrapbook, clippings, and ephemera related to Marion Vest Fors' murals which were painted in the James E. Morrow Library as part of the centennial celebration of Marshall College. The murals were removed for remodeling circa 1966 and remounted in 2005. The scrapbook was created by Fors about her creation of the mural to justify its emergence from storage and reuse in the Morrow Library. Also included in the collection are paintbrushes used in the painting of the murals.

This collection consists of photographs of Himlerville, the Himler Coal Company town, as well as scanned copies of photographs of 1937 and 1943 flood damage, and a survey book by George H. Gunnoe Jr. containing detailed surveys of Marshall College buildings by engineering students in 1937.

This collection consists of a CD containing digital files of letters and certificates sent or owned by various members of the Bartram, Ross, and Told families. Also included are printed copies of some of the letters. Included are letters to John Tuffree about the management of the Bartram farm at Millersport, Ohio; while the Martin, Ross, and Told family letters are from various locations, including Boonesboro, Iowa, Rocky Narrows, Ohio(?), and Huntingburgh, Indiana. The CD contains folders for the Bartram, Ross, and Told family, each respectively containing 23, 20, and 23 image files.

This collection consists of 57 reels of 16 mm film primarily of family activities and travels abroad dating from 1932 until 1952. Special films of note include footage of coal mines and footage of the 1937 flood in Huntington, West Virginia. Also included are an Eiki film projector, VHS and DVD copies of selected film, and oversize family and business related photographs.

This collection from the Huntington Cabell County Chapter of the American Red Cross spans the years of 1917-2002. The collection was divided into three record groups; administration, programs, and services. The majority of the administration files consist of annual reports and minutes from various committee and board meetings. The program files contain an assortment of fundraisers and campaigns, which includes the annual American Red Cross Ball 1985-2001. The service files offer a variety of information on disaster, blood, and military service to the community including information on the Canteen, which was in operation during WWI. This collection is an artificially created collection from different donors, consisting primarily of scrapbooks, programs, and other ephemera related to Huntington High School. Ephemera includes a 1920 issue of the Tatler student newspaper, commencement programs, and materials created during various class reunions for the classes of 1921, 1928, 1929, 1937, and 1945. Scrapbooks for the class of 1921 reunions and Myrtle R. Cooke’s “The Girl Graduate’s Scrapbook” include extensive amounts of photographs and printed material related to the reunions and Huntington High School respectively. Cooke’s scrapbook also includes unrelated family materials.
