Youth In Australia - Policy, Administration And Politics, Terry Irving, David Maunders, Geoff Sherington
Youth In Australia - Policy, Administration And Politics, Terry Irving, David Maunders, Geoff Sherington
Terence H Irving, Dr (Terry)
This book describes and analyses the development of youth policy in Australia since the end of World War II. Three eras are distinguished in terms of how society constructed youth as a problem: as juvenile delinquency (to 1960); as a generation gap (to the mid-1970s); and most recently as a wasted resource (1975-1990). In each period chapters cover: the social and demographic context and images of young people; policy development; bureaucratic structures; and the politics of youth and youth policy.

The Modern Temper : American Culture And Society In The 1920s, Lynn Dumenil
Lynn Dumenil
"Lynn Dumenil brings a fresh interpretation to a dramatic, important, and misunderstood decade. As her lively work makes clear, changing values brought an end to the repressive Victorian era; urban liberalism emerged; the federal bureaucracy was expanded; pluralism became increasingly important to America's heterogeneous society; and different religious, ethnic, and cultural groups encountered the homogenizing force of a powerful mass-consumer culture."--Jacket.

The "Hereford Troper" And Hereford, Elizabeth Teviotdale
The "Hereford Troper" And Hereford, Elizabeth Teviotdale
Elizabeth C Teviotdale
The probability of a Hereford origin for the so-called Hereford Troper (London, BL, MS Cotton Caligula A.xiv (troper) is re-examined. The longstanding opinion that the paintings in the troper share an exclusive stylistic affinity with those in a gospel lectionary known to have been at Hereford at an early date (Cambridge, Pembroke College, MS 302) is challenged, and it is proposed that the Hereford provenance of the 11th-century gospel-lectionary does not constitute reliable evidence concerning the origin of the troper (now also called the Caligula Troper).

Le Conventum D'Aquitaine (Vers 1030); Précurseur Des Premières Épopées, George Beech, Yves Chauvin, George Pon
George T. Beech

This study will show that this familiar figure of Jesus and the motto Evangelizare pauperibus misit me both date from the time of Saint Vincent. However, the use of both of these together, with the motto surrounding the oval, dates only from the nineteenth century.
