A commonplace among English historians today is the importance of English ties with Aquitaine during the later Middle Ages. For some three centuries, historical events came to link the destinies of these two countries and peoples who otherwise differed strikingly in economy, language and culture in general, with lasting consequences for both. Unionism And The Political Party Structure Of Northern Ireland, Allan Leonard

This undergraduate independent study examined Unionist political reaction to developments of British Government policy towards Northern Ireland. Namely, Nationalist representatives achieved redress with the British Government, both directly and vis-a-vis the Irish Government, which should have compelled Unionists to pursue a more accommodationalist policy. Regardless, there was a paradoxical drive by integrationists in Northern Ireland for direct electoral candidacy by the Conservative Party in the regional constituency. This paper makes a defence in favour of this campaign, as a means of improving the accountability of British Government policy affecting those in its jurisdiction.

Memorandum book of James. R. Larkin of St. Louis, Missouri, published in cooperation with the Historical Society of New Mexico. Edited and annotated by Barton H. Barbour. This book presents a rare "health-seekers" diary on the Santa Fe Trail in the 1850s. Larkin visited New Mexico at a time of intensive transition, and witnessed several significant events on the trail and in early Anglo-occupied New Mexico. Few such diaries exist, and Larkin's in one of the earliest and most robust health-seeker diaries known.
